Please, the guy is recovering from surgery.....take that first picture down!

I'm pretty sure even if Mig doesnt make it back to the saddle that he will be a very influential part of the game for many years to come, in whatever roll that may be. Hall of Fame worthy no doubt. Best of luck, prayers are with him.

If you want to send card or note to Mig:

Often the close of the superficial layer of skin in a long procedure is done by assistant's or residents as the attending or head surgeon, who did the actual procedure, goes to speak with the family as soon as possible. In first rate teaching hospitals this is very common.

It would appear that the word to Steve came from Mig's wife - she heard from the surgeon.

I'm sure doc, I was just messin'. After listening to Kent D. on the ride home, I had to make myself a stiff drink. :zz:

Good news, get well Mig!

my miss storm cat 05-04-2010 08:17 PM

I'm really happy to hear it went well.

Hope he's not in too much pain and that he recovers quickly.

It's missing a NYRA public handicapper as a bookend?

Neither Mig or I want any proof that we're friends with Steve.

Can you blame us?

Any update on the Mig? I thought I read in the paper yesterday that Richie was supposed to address the media. Did anyone hear anything?

Hopefully he is doing better.

Rich made the announcement that he has officially been forced to retire. More later and tonight on ATR.

It was a very emotional scene.

ELA 06-02-2010 10:23 AM

I for one am not embarassed to say that my emotions are running very high. I am at a loss for words.

CSC 06-02-2010 10:30 AM

I think Mr. Migliore used to lurk on here, if so let me be the first to say, he will be missed, one thing I could always count on when I bet a Richie horse was he would always give it his best, whether it was a 25K claimer or gr.1 stakes race. That is the best compliment I can give a rider. Happy retirement Richie. :tro:
