Nearly all the Arab world is against Hezbollah's actions. For obvious reasons, you will hear the average Palestinian support Hezbollah.

You won't read or hear much about Arab leaders' spreaking out against Hezbollah in the U.S. print and broadcast media. Ask yourself, why? Then please let me know.

S2S,
That was a very good article from the Jerusalem Times. Obviously, the Saudi's again lead the way. Actions by Hezbollah and Hamas make their world much more dangerous.
Why hasn't this been reported in the American press? HMMMMMM?
I have no answer other than there must be a different agenda being presented...but what do I know?
I just hope the UN cease-fire takes shape, and that diologue with Syria resumes. Despite their bad press, they could have influence in this situation.

Thanks for the link, STS. Very interesting reading.

I missed the early part of this discussion ...

... but are leftists still fixated on the "torture" at Abu Ghraib? Which amounted to two oversexed guards taking cheap porno photos of a handful of prisoners.

Is that what passes for "torture"? Where not a single prisoner was injured? Why don't you tell Nick Berg about all this torture? Oh, that's right ... you can't ... because he had his head cut off.

The leftists who are fixated on this are utter jokes ... who continue to make complete fools of themselves as their hatred of America becomes more and more evident.

BB, I invite you to look at some of the photos:

http://www.antiwar.com/news/?articleid=2444

http://www.guardian.co.uk/gall/0,8542,1211872,00.html

In particular, take note of the ones of soldiers posing next to corpses of Iraqis who arrived at the prison in good health. I don't know what kind of "porno photos" you look at, but the ones I've seen sure don't include corpses, bloodstained cells and blindfolded prisoners being terrfied by dogs. But hey, if that's what gets your rocks off, BB...

GenuineRisk 08-12-2006 07:12 PM

And more for those who believe the "no prisoners were injured at Abu Ghiraib theory..."

Nice I already read this article. This was BEFORE the Iranian outburst at the meeting. At that meeting not one member I saw or read about condemned the Iranian president, not one. So the war really gets going and then they dont have the courage to stand up.

And STS one soldier talking is one soilder amongst a gang of criminals. This soldier is a hero in my mind. Do you think his story would have gotten out in a totalitarian regime? Hell no because there is no system in place to punish this kind of act. He would have told no one because he would be dead. And who is going to listen to the rape and killing of an infidel?

These photos have already been shown here and they are disgusting; if the stories that go with them are true, the animals that perpetrated these acts hopefully will be brought to swift justice.

It has in the Washington Post. It was also discussed fully on C-span by a number of mideast experts. In fact I posted something along these lines fairly early in the Lebanon mess.

Those photos are exactly what I meant by "porno" ... they are photos of some naked bodies taken by twisted minds who got their jollies from kinky garbage like that ... and who later found themselves in jail after being prosecuted by the American justice system ... but ...

... I repeat ... there was no one being "tortured" ... no one was injured ... and no one was decapitated.

I had thought that the recent history of leftist "jounalists" being repeatedly duped by faked stories and faked photos proffered by terrorist propagandists ... would have inured even the most gullible from swallowing whole-hog such garbage .. but ... it appears I may have been wrong.

As Lenin wryly observed ... "There's a useful idiot born every minute."

I agree with you and please, may you be right they will be brought to justice, Pgardn, but in a world where Rumsfeld still has a job, I'm not hopeful.

I wait with bated breath for your links to reputable news organizations' articles on how these photos are fakes, BB... sorry, FoxNews doesn't count.

Re-read my post ...

... I said faked stories ... and faked photos.

Given the humiliations that the leftist press has repeatedly suffered ... as their blatant agenda is ever more exposed as they are wilingly duped by terrorist propagandists ... one would think that both the stories and the photos would be met with a huge dollop of skepticism by any honorable, thinking person.

In this case ... the photos may be "real" ... but the accompanying stories about live bodies suddenly becoming dead ones ... should be considered highly dubious ... to say the least.

Bold one come on. We send that many troops over there... you know there are going to be some perverts. Its just probablility. If you take that many people from almost any population you are going to find some animals. And you put people under that much stress, in that environment, its bound to happen and it should be brought out to show WE will not stand for this behavior. WE will seek them out not brush it under the rug. WE are better than that and will not tolerate these acts. If the accussed are innocent we hope our system will prove this... If not, to the slammer or mental institute.

Say what?

I was the first to say that they were perverts ... all two of them ... or maybe there were three.

It's impossible not to gather 500,000 young, rambunctious people ... the approximate number which have served in Iraq ... and not have a few criminals and nutjobs.

My point ... however ... is that there was nothing remotely resembling the "torture" that the leftists so loudly and falsely proclaim. Having some male prisoners strip naked and pose for porno pictures is not "torture." It's unseemly and reprehensible and unworthy of U.S. military personnel ... but it's not torture.

And there's nothing ... absolutely nothing ... about Abu Ghraib for the American government ... or the American military ... or the American citizenry ... to feel sorry about or ashamed of. A few perverts got out of hand ... they were found out by their superiors ... and punished by our justice system. End of story.
