Can't remember the name, but the colt (or filly) that set the 4.5 furlong record last year at Keeneland sticks out in my mind. I was impressed by that one.

i'm guessing it won't show up on this list of flashy maiden wins.

at least she got there in less tries than Tubacity.

One's I remember from the track.. all from Saratoga of course..

Maimonides was impressive in his maiden win at Saratoga, as was Indian Blessing.

There was a horse like 4-6 years ago who was really impressive at Saratoga I just cant think if the name. For some reason Zarkava comes to mind but I know its not him.... I give up.

Kodiak Kowboy

Not certain on speed, but seem to remember it looking incredibly professional for a two year old.

Anything English Channel did must have been good. Also thinking Shakespeare was impressive.

Medaglia D'oro

hailrazer 05-14-2009 01:58 PM

Medaglia d'Oro. Broke poorly from the outside (10 hole, I believe) going 6 panels and rushed up. Won by daylight.

The Indomitable DrugS 05-14-2009 01:59 PM

He didn't even win his debut.

He was 2nd at Turfway.

MaTH716 05-14-2009 02:03 PM

He probably beat nothing, but Lost in the Fog had an impressive debut.

Wasn't the thread about impressive Mdn wins? If not I will think of some debut winners.

Question was about maiden wins, not debut race.

CSC 05-14-2009 02:13 PM

The horse that won at GP on turf trained by Mott and ridden by Garcia was probably the best Mdn win I remember this year. Name anyone?
