It doesn't matter. I don't agree with rooting for a team you have no other connection to just because they're good. It's lame to me. Obviously if people grew up near Pittsburgh and then moved away, that makes sense, but I'm talking about the people born in raised in somewhere like Nevada who are "die hard" Steeler fans.

i leave 3hrs from pittsburgh but 90 min from baltimore. so i should root for the colts? who packed up and left in the middle of the night. i've been rooting for the Steelers and pirates since 1971, i was 7yrs old. my dad was colts and orioles fan and me rooting for the Black and Gold used to piss him off.:D after the colts left he's kinda adopted the Steelers. he can't stand the ravens and he's not much on the skins.

You guys have gone through a lot of hand ringing since that Namath victory.

I took a fascination to the LA Rams when I was 8 years old
because of their helmets. I wrote members of the team
got autographed pictures back... I would buy the LA paper
at the airport, begged my Dad to take me so I could keep up.
ANd all I did was suffer. And get goaded by Cowboy fans.
I completely dropped the team when they moved to St. Louis.
Thus the Super Bowl win meant nothing to me.

I was a T'Wolves fan from 1995-2007, originally because of KG. When KG was finally traded, I had a decision to make, and after a summer of agonizing, I jumped ship, only because I felt that KG was the victim in the situation. If KG had forced his way out of Minnesota (i.e. what Kobe tried to do with the Lakers), I'd still be a Wolves fan, but it was the unfathomable repeated idiocy of Glen Taylor and Kevin McHale that forced him out. I don't plan on jumping again ever, and I'd never change allegiances from the Jets.

My only point is it's lame to become a fan of a team solely because they're good, IMO, and a lot of Cowboy and Steeler fans strike me as those kind of people. I'm not calling out anyone here, but I was asked why the Steelers annoyed me and I answered.

LOL...Some of that's because I bet them to win their division in 2006. I got like 6-1 or 7-1 at the Allstar break. You're right though, I used to like them from 2001-2006( when they still had Erstad n' Kennedy.) They played as a team. When those 2 got cut loose, they lost some intensity. They aren't as clutch in the post. I didn't care how they did the last 2 years. I guess it was more about the players than the organization. Anyways, I grew up halfway between Dodger Stadium, and the Big A. When the Dodgers play the Angels, it's not even close(want the Dodgers to win every game.) Ain't like I've ever pulled for a team that isn't within an hour's drive.

This game is such garbage. I can't remember a Super Bowl with less juice.

Nah. I'm dying to have a Brooklyn team to root for, but I can't jump again. I'd be conflicted when the Celts played the Nets, but I'd still be a Celtic fan. This is why I'm hoping they don't actually end up moving.

How bout those three of the four BILLS Super Bowls :D all the juice was with the Redskins & Cowboys, those three were unwatchable.

I didn't have much hope for Tenn-St. Louis and was pleasantly surprised. If you throw out the pre-conceived notion that you need a name team ( or a major metro market Scuds), I think the game itself can be great to watch.

Especially if you have a winning bet on it
