Congratulations to Evening Attire
and all the connections. What a
race! The track announcer was so
excited too. How could you not
love him, he even came out of
the gate well today. Thank you
Evening Attire, you are what the
sport is all about. May you remain
happy, healthy, safe and sound.
LOVE YOU!

Congrats to the 10 year old. Do I understand correctly that there is a new B.C race at a mile and a half? This year's would be on synthetic, which EA has never tried. Turf attempts have been sub-par, butt relishes an off track

EA's connections are saying the BC is a long ways off, and they'll be looking for another mile and a half race in between.

August 23rd,Delaware has the Kelso Hdcp at 12f

September 6th,Turfway Park Fall Championship, Grade III(synthetic)

September 21, Monmouth Park, Point Given Stakes

EA in the Breeders Cup Marathon will be a lot of fun, even if the poly isn't necessarily to his liking.

We do know he didn't like the rock hard dirt the last time he ran the BC in SA. At least the poly "promises" a fair track to all runners this time.

Congrats to Evening Attire... Just wonderful stuff for the horse and all the connections. Maybe you should send him over to Europe and give Yeats and Septimus a try? Actually scratch that thought stick with beating up Malibu Moonpuppy and Successful Affair.

Congrats, I was at the OTB where they did not show the race, but I heard the live call. Was very exciting, just listening to the race you still got the feeling EA was a winner way before he got the lead.:)

Here's a link to the video on youtube- I love races where the crowd screams loud enough to be picked up by the race caller's mic. :)

Thanks to everyone for saying such nice things about Attire. He ran a very good race and got a 103 Beyers for it. We had thought about scratching him because of the heat but we know Attire will not run if he doesn’t feel right. He is a smart horse that takes care of himself. He came out of the race in great shape and he wasn’t even breathing hard after the race. He wasn’t sweating as much as I was.:)

Congrats to Evening Attire and all his connections. Great to see the old boy strut his stuff.

I finally got to watch the race. What a beautiful animal. His move on the far turn was beautiful.

If he is up at the spa getting some of the good water I hope to be able to come by and visit a true star of the sport.

How is he a few days out from his stupendous effort?

the bc marathon is supposed to be last race right and not even televised? that would be a shame

Hmm after I wrote that, I tried to look up where I read it..and I couldn't find it. I have no idea why I thought the Marathon was last and not televised. I'm probably wrong.

no, you're probably right. they've made so many changes, not necessarily for the better, it's hard to keep track.

but of course we know it's not on friday.

Attire does not run on turf. That has been well established. And at 12f, he would be going up against Macarthur and Duke of Marmelade. Not that I don't think Attire would love 2 miles as well.

NTRA and Breeders cup have a once in a lifetime opportunity (With EA maybe more than once) to promote the SH** out of Evening Attire, the 10 year old who nixes retirement and keeps rolling along. This is the type of feel good story that closes a National Evening News broadcast.. If he runs in the Cup and the Breeders Cup/NTRA play it right they will generate loads of new blood to watch to see the old guy run in the cup.. Let's hope they don't drop the ball once again...
