(And as an FYI, Joey spent just a summer and a half working the Carolina mines. His career as a Cue-slinger is over.. While it may have shown flashes of brilliance, it was not a statue-earning tenure.)

While Lori's tenure is surely deserving of having something erected in her honor.

yes...pun intended.;)

Street Hero's works are perhaps too fast. I pondered a wager, but there are a couple other promising horses in there

Check out Woodbine's 9th, Roses N Wine is 12-1 on the ml, tries turf for the 1st time in this nx1 allowance

Lost Mountain went on a tear after the Derby. I think he won the Peter Pan, Dwyer, and Haskell all at good odds. Might have run only a couple of times at 4, so the tough campaign must have taken its toll. I think he ran in the BC Juvenile as a maiden, and in either the Champagne or some maiden race he clipped heels and fell. That was back when Loblloly was good for one or two top 3yos every spring.

I think Sea Hero is the only horse in history to win the Champagne, Kentucky Derby, and Travers. He was 8-1, 13-1, and 6-1 in each of those contests, which aside from the BC Juvenile and the other Triple Crown races were the only races of consequence he ran in. He won each of those by open lengths, too. When he chose to fire, he was at the top of that mediocre crop of horses.

None of that means he needs a statue in his honor, but he by no means should be lumped in with a bunch of one-hit wonders like Frost Giant, Wagon Limit, or Ah-Ha...

Well... I know Chuck will stand up for Wagon Limit, so I'll leave it to him...

I'll do the standing up for 'a-ha'... Take On Me, and the video (one of the 10 best evah), and an excellent and under-appreciated Bond title track to their everlasting credit...

Street Hero ran well to finish for third in spite of giving a talent edge to some in the field. Not a bad looker either. Maybe he enjoys the stretch out beyond today's 5.5.
