John Wayne of Delaware Racing Commission should join me before the show ends with official ruling details...

All righty then, I guess there was intent. Dumb, dumb, dumb, Jeremy.

Thanks.

What a freaking dumbass.

Not that they'll ever do it, but this was served up perfectly for Randy Moss and his "ban the whip" nonsense.

It's not like the guy is a known animal abuser. Sue me for at least giving the guy the benefit of the doubt.

Coach Pants 06-24-2008 03:38 PM

He should face animal cruelty charges as well.

3kings 06-24-2008 03:39 PM

The head on is pretty brutal........hard to feel sorry for Rose.

I believe he is known for having a temper though and he will be known as an animal abuser after this. The new face for whatever sick PETA campaign is upcoming.

The vast majority of medication positives are neither dangerous or intentional.

I'm thinking about those jockeys at Tampa who got ruled off the grounds immediately - with an effective penalty far worse than a few days, and the "battery" incident where the guy lost his license for a few years, if I recall.

I agree that the jockeys' appeals until December render the "typical" careless riding suspensions meaningless.

The trainers that you referenced are the only ones that I can remember getting penalties that severe, and I doubt their misdeeds were unintentional.

PETA is all over Wimbeldon using sharpshooters to blow birds out of the sky right now.... :)

Yup, probably right on that last comment. I've never seen Rose dog a ride, and he's competitive as they come, but I guess that got the best of him.

He won't ride again.

I agree with both statements. That was tough to watch.

If that was my horse that he did that to.....

Agreed. He should never be able to mount another horse in his life. He should get his hot headed a$$ put in jail and fined out the wahzoo.

Coach Pants 06-24-2008 03:45 PM

Maybe some good will come out of this...

like shutting down Delaware Park.

GPK 06-24-2008 03:46 PM

I can't think of any legitimate excuse for doing something like that. No way he can claim it was accidental...he clearly swung the whip at the horses face.

horseofcourse 06-24-2008 03:47 PM

Holy cow...watched the head on...the kid's got some issues. Very sad to see something like that.

Antitrust32 06-24-2008 03:48 PM

Afleet Alex must be PISSED

this might be a dumb question, but is this suspension from Del Park only? If so, is he not free to take his tak elsewhere?

tampa guys last year and p-val come to mind when talking about these situations.

i have not got a chance to see the replay, so i have no opinion at this point

I highly doubt someone would ride him, regardless of where he goes, he probably wouldn't get a license.

No one wants to be in this firestorm. WHOA!!
