Possible injury turns to a society thread.

Cool.

I am on board with too many excuses theme.

And I really hope Casino Drive runs.
Adds a little interest. A little...

if you think they are totally forthcoming you're in a dream world. making excuses? no, but withholding key information in order to save face is standard operating procedure.

I totally agree. It is not an open culture. But they never make excuses. It is not part of their culture.

I am all for holding key information in order to save face. Beats people doing things and then making excuses so they have no accountability.

Decision after the vet advises but not looking too good...

On a different note.. PLEASE STOP THE VITRIOLIC UNPLEASANTRIES... I'm unable to police the Forum adequately from here and am bothered by the tremendous lack of mutual respect being displayed the last several days.

We're on the eve of one of the most exciting afternoons available in racing and I'm amazed that I need to intercede on threads with the above idiocy and yesterday's Fat Man Fandango.

Steve

For those at home

VITRIOLIC = harsh or corrosive in tone

For the record, I love Toronto and have no issues with canadians, except the ones that play the Canada vs America card... :)

Americans make excuses for everything. It is the fattest society in the world and americans blame restaurants for putting too much fat in the food. Hilarious. And smokers sue tobacco companies because they couldn't figure out smoking is bad for you.

Why don't we sue the track if we lose money? It is their fault for allowing us to gamble. :)

Chris, c'mon man I'm not even through this thread yet and you are digging yourself into a hole here. I kind of see where you are coming from, but save it for the winter when we have nothing else to talk about. We are a day away from the Belmont Stakes and I don't need to be reminded that I need to lose 20 lbs. Damn beer, it's the breweries fault I'm fat.

pre-Belmont excitment build-up, thats all it is Steve. the natives are restless!

it is a downer though if this horse is scratched.

DRF is supporting a suspected stone bruise in the left hind.

No expert, but that shouldn't keep him out. I personally would scratch him because he probably couldn't win if he was 100%. He is a Mineshaft, and his better days are probably ahead of him.

I read about his "work" yesterday in bloodhorse.com and it said he took an "off step" at the end... I bet that is when the stone bruise happened (just speculation).

"Crossing the finish, he gave a slight bobble as if he hit a bad spot and that enabled him to finally change leads as he continued strongly past the wire."

I sure as shootin' wouldn't run my horse if he has a bruise in the left hind hoof.

Montreal is an awesome city. It's like Europe but with an 1:30 plane ride.
