He was accused by owner-trainer Barbara Conner of offering her an undisclosed amount of money to scratch her horse so his horse, who was on the also-eligible list, could draw into a $7500 maiden claiming race. She did not scratch her horse, Mamaroni, and reported the incident to the Turfway stewards. Ramsey's horse, Ken's Cat, did draw in following additional scratches but was not allowed to race after the incident was brought to light"

"Breach Of Contract Suit Filed Against Ramsey - by Pete Spanos - July 21, 2005 - Central Kentucky veterinarian and equine technology consultant David Lambert has filed a breach of contract suit for unspecified monetary damages and attorney's fees against horse owner Kenneth Ramsey and his Ramsey Farm near Nicholasville, Ky. The civil complaint, filed in Fayette County Circuit Court, concerns Ramsey's two-time grade I winner Roses in May. In the suit, Lambert alleges that he and his company are entitled to "certain bonuses and breeding rights" based on the horse's earnings he claims have not been paid." |
