[quote=Cardus]It's sad that if he were to run at any of the above "bush league tracks" for his next race, each track would probably have a larger attendance than Belmont's Jockey Club Gold Cup Day on Sept. 30. Each venue might have a 20,000 plus attendance if Street Sense were to run there.

NYRA will have 16,000 with Street Sense AND a giveaway and have to face Curlin. The Super Derby is the logical choice. Calvin gets to race at home. the purse goes from 500K to a mil. The place will be packed. Plus, four 3 yos that I can think of have done quite well going from the SD to the BCC...Sunday, Unbridled, Concern, and Tiznow.

If Carl is going to run him again before the BCC, the SD to me, is a no brainer.

What disturbs me is that Gold Cup Day is Sept.30, a Sunday. Though it's true that a Sunday at Belmont Park -- deemed "Family Fun Day" -- usually draws as many if not more people than Saturdays draw, NYRA is going up against the NFL.

Track attendance means diddly squat. The handle at Belmont would dwarf Lousiana.

That's ok because both the Jets and Giants will be done by then

OK, They will be around for at least another week.

Giants 4-12
Jets 6-10

I actually think the Jets have a decent chance to make the playoffs and make some noise this year. I put $50 on them in Vegas at 30/1 to win the Super Bowl. It was the only team that showed any value at the time and they opened up at like 60/1. Big fan of Mangini

And as I live 15 mims from Belmont. That would be my choice too

I think that the JCGC and the Haw Cup are out. Carl has ben quoted saying that he wants to prep SS at 1 1/8 miles instead of 1 1/4 miles. Carl ran Unbridled in the Super Derby before he ran in the Classic so that race seems to be a possibility. Then again, Carl could just train SS up to the BCC. If SS does race 1 more time before the Classic it prob will be either at Turfway or LA Downs.

I totally agree. I would go to LA, but he seemed to like prepping on polytrack, both for the BCJ and the KD.
