How sweet you are Santa. The deep empathy for your fellow man is endearing.

If you love old green paint, you'll love Beulah Park!

I assure you the degenerate parent gives two shits about me as well. As for my lack of a bleeding heart? Well lets just say I loathe crying so my lack of one suits me well.

What about MEEP-MEEP?

Storm Cadet 04-08-2007 12:03 PM

Aqueduct Yes its real depressing...no matter where you try and hide from the multitude of pigeons and the Rastafarian's smoking you know what!

But BELMONT...

Be it in the clubhouse near the Woody Stevens trophy cases, or upstairs 3rd floor with it's spectacular views relaxing with a nice Cuban cigar or in the paddock area with a picnic table with a cooler of cold ones with friends near the Secretariat statue, there is NO other place to go and unwind from work.
Is this Heaven? No...it's Belmont!:D

Ya but you don't have fine shrubbery out front sculpted into the name of your track.

You aren't at the track on weekdays anyway.. You're being morose.. Have a Peep...

i agree i love going to the track live. to see the people and horses. my job has me traveling all over the usa so every change i get to go to a track i go. wouldn't want it any other way. i guess that is why i also like my job. :)

Ya got that right!
And, how can anyone that's around horses be depressed?
If that's where your head's at, your gonna get hurt.
Horses don't think that way.
Why should humans?

Oh! Right...we bet on them and not the other way around.

I'll take the barns. Leave the windows to the ones that like depression.
Risks untaken deserve no rewards.

At home, people are much less apt to bet beyond their means. There are other things to do at home. You can change the focus much more easily. You can play ,or watch sports.Go out to eat with friends or family etc. I like the track, and go sometimes. It is different than betting from home though...2 different animals.

I live 20 miles south of Boston.Closest track is Suffolk Downs. It's beyond depressing there...tellers are miserable and so are the patrons.I drive down to a harness track (Plainridge) where they have similcasting.Very clean and happy go lucky tellers.Although when Suffolk Downs is running races,Plainridge can only show 2 other tracks...argh....

hockey2315 04-08-2007 01:39 PM

The OTB is extremely depressing. . . The two tracks I go to mostly are Finger Lakes and Saratoga- obviously Saratoga is far from depressing and Finger Lakes isn't as bad as it seems. . .

Were you beaten as a child?
Good gosh there is just no reason to use so much energy hating. Trying to fill the Repent void I guess. I will stop with the judging. Go about your merry way and have a good day.

GPK 04-08-2007 02:35 PM

I only make it to the actual track MAYBE 6-7 times a year....I relish every trip there.

Did your parents read to you as a child? I never said I hated these people. I just don't care what they do with their time and money. They don't. Why should I?
