Unrelated.. If we have Sumwon at that time, she'll come to Saratoga with Chuck's string and race if there's a spot...

not sure if you all realize this or not...but the Keeneland track photographer takes many photos of nearly every horse in every race...both in the paddock and warming up etc. they are available for purchase on the website...so either way you can probably end up with a nice professional photo.

Thanks for pointing this out! Less pressure on my friend in KY now to get me a great picture. :)

I have gotten some fantastic paddock photos of my favorites through them...an 8x10 is only $20 I think.

I would definitely be in for NY bred. I'm sure pointman and the "other Nick" would be in as well.

Sounds great, as does all the Sumwon happenings.

The Jersey Bred program is not too shabby either.

That's the understatement of the century. Owning a NJ-bred is more lucrative than being a CEO in the oil business. And not nearly as messy.

Buffymommy 04-01-2007 09:36 PM

I so want to join in, BUT homeowners insurance in FLorida is THROUGH THE ROOF right now. My mortgage just doubled. I WAS THIS CLOSE TO GETTING MY FIRST HORSE TOO. Have to stay with Buck for now, but that is OK his owners love having me working with him and even have me exercising another one of their horses.

But I am rooting for all of you! I will have to live vicariously through all of you for now. :)

thanks buffy! im happy for everyone here whos getting a chance to get involved in ownership through the partnership steve and chuck have setup!!!!! for those that are first time owners that are involved theyre bout to experience feelings theyve never known. im also thankful theyre in the right hands and wont have to go through some of the BS that i did in the past

The Bid 04-01-2007 10:24 PM

The feeling you all will get running one is incredible, the feeling you will get when she wins will be overwhelming.

You couldnt ask for anything more than for her to debut at Keeneland. Should be a great experience for everyone

Without a doubt, you can count me in Steve, would love to have a piece of one on the NY circuit.

Does participating in the Sumwonlovesyou partnership meet the ownership qualifications for obtaining an owners license??
If so is the requirement regarding insurance met also??

Licensing Standards Specific to Horse Owners

The Compact shall not complete the processing of an application for a national racing license as a horse owner unless it finds that the applicant has met the general licensing standards set forth above and:
a) Is at least eighteen (18) years of age; and
b) Is qualified to perform the duties and functions associated with an owner’s license, including that the applicant:
1. Owns or has under lease a horse eligible to race in one or more jurisdictions; and
2. Has presented satisfactory evidence that he or she currently is covered by workers’ compensation insurance if workers’ compensation insurance is required for owners by his or her jurisdiction of residence, or the equivalent self-insurance if self-insurance is permitted by that jurisdiction, in the amount required by that jurisdiction.

P/D,

Sumwonlovesyou partners do not need to get ownership credentials. You are not required to have a license if you own under 5% of a horse, and we set this up so people could save the cost and hassle of getting licensed. Technically, no one owns more than 4% of her. And Chuck carries the insurance coverage.
