As for the analogy, you are still off in what you are trying to say. Stern isn't trying to convert anyone to his way of thinking, Hitler made you believe what his beliefs were or else. Stern does a show, trying to entertain and make the morning not so boring at work. you don't like it, don't listen. The way you are using it almost anything can be used in an analogy with Hitler. Now doesn't that seem foolish.

You say you don't get personal:
"bored person"
"casts spells"
Get out away from that TV"
Wow, I'm glad you don't feel the need to get personal!

No, just trying a different route...can't seem to get folks to understand the use of analogy. Why do you feel that a certain degree of animation equates to distress?

Tsk Tsk... you boys need to play nice.

I'm well aware of what an analogy is... poor example, though IMHO.

Why do you feel it's a poor use? The only difference is the use of names instead of X and Y...

And the death of 6 million jews. AND Stern's father is jewish. It's a batshit insane analogy.

I spend maybe an hour or two a day watching TV usually...I don't cast spells. I do get bored at times but that's not why I post an opinion...I do so cause...well, it's my opinion...same, I suspect as why you do!

You really have no concept of what I've said, do you?

Why is it that after every tragic event (school shootings, 9-11, explosions etc) knuckleheads call into TV and radio stations with made-up stories (sometimes getting past screening and on the air) which end with the punchline of "Howard Stern did it" or something like that...always mentioning him! Stern makes money off the misery of others...to me he's the lowest form of human life. If you "get" him...well, that's your right just as it's my right to say what I do!!!

This is what American Idol is all about for what...the first month or so?? Making fun of people! Do you guys tune out for the first month, or do you point and laugh at the William Hung's with the rest of us?? Please explain.

I can only speak for myself...I don't watch that show until the final 40. When I watched it in the past, I didn't care for certain aspects of the initial auditions so I no longer do! It's a bit like the talk shows where folks go on the air and talk about having an affair with their dog...I don't understand why a person with no talent subjects him/herself to critical review....the Andy Warhol 15 minutes of fame thing I guess. Hung seemed to have a good time doing what he did...I never took that as making fun of him rather him taking advantage of an opportunity and making a bit of money. I actually respect him for that...

I think you are the exception & not the rule. Most people enjoy the bad contestants during the first month of the show, and Fox certainly capitalizes on that. Just look at all of the previews showing the train wrecks that people like to make fun of. Also reference the "worst of" Idol auditions, etc. Hung is probably a bad example because he was so funny. If you say you tune out for the first month when they make fun of people, than you are a better man than most I suppose. Do you read Playboy for the articles too? :) :)

No...I did read the articles after I looked at the pictures! As a feminist I guess I should be anti-Playboy but as a Wiccan I see no problem with nudity...and I like pretty women! To me, that isn't an intellectual debate...more on the level of "fire bad, tree pretty!"

That was a joke, not meant to be taken literally. I was poking fun at your claim of not watching the show until the final 40. Not saying it couldn't be true, but it amounts to about the same amount of people who "claim" to read Playboy for the articles. Like I said, I guess you're the exception to the rule.

I know...it's an old joke but I couldn't resist answering! America has real issues with sex and nudity...Europe is a bit more open. I don't think there is anything on earth more beautiful than the female body so I had to answer!

Naked Jerry...why bring up that image? LOL! Seriously, I kid you a lot but I share your attraction to naked women...even at my advanced age!
