I don't really see where you are coming from. They never lost a game by 20 this year and that includes playing Ohio St, Wisconsin, Maryland, and Arizona. I don't think they are very dangerous in the tournament but I think they belong there with a 9-7 league record and two wins in their conference tourney.

Either way, I hope they meet, because if they do...loser buys the winner a few cold ones during opening week this summer.

You got it!!! No losers in that bracket!

Hickory Hill Hoff 03-11-2007 10:59 PM

Too bad Notre Dame and Georgia Tech are in the same bracket, those two were my top "sleepers". I think Louisville has got a good shot at the "Final 4" also as a sleeper. Love to see a Ohio St./Albany match too! I can see UCLA and Wisconsin getting picked off early.

I saw Lunardi's offer to just pay him instead and save the precious time it supposedly takes them. I'm willing to make the same offer. I don't think my bracket would have been as offensive to so many people as the one they came up with. I got 62 out of 65 which is one of my worst years but I beat Lunardi who had 61 at best. Just wait until next year on ESPN.com when they claim Lunardi had 64 out of 65 last year like they do every year when he really has 62 or 63.

Truthfully it does not really matter because all of the teams we discussed probably would not get out of the opening week but the NCAA drives me crazy. Just like Billy Packer. Is there anybody that enjoys listening to him? He was bearable when it was him, Al McGuire and Dick Enberg but he not only is annoying to listen to, he is often wrong about his observations.

Case in point, the incident in the North Carolina / Duke game

Last year was awesome. He absolutely flipped out when George Mason and Wichita St got in the tourney. Outside of Dickie V being mad about Arkansas getting in this year I don't think I've even seen an analyst so upset as Packer was last year. Of course they only made it to the Elite 8 and Final Four respectively to expose Packer as the total idiot that he was.

He makes Brent Musberger seem competent.

I think he died ten years ago. It really isn't fair to expect Packer to perform as well as an animated corpse.

Musburger is a Big Ten homer. I think he's still got Henne's balls stuck in his dentures.

My brother and I saw Musberger sneaking out of an OTB in Indianapolis prior to Game 4 of the NBA finals in 2000. He apparently likes to bet on the ponies. That game ended up being incredible, as Sleepy Sam Perkins tied the game & sent it into OT, with the Lakers eventually winning & going on to the title. Reggie missed a 3 to win the game at the end of OT. One of the best finals games ever....except for the final result :(

That was awesome. I honestly thought that Jim Nantz was going to cry when Mason got in last year. They both ended up eating some major crow.

For anyone that bets the games in the tourney you can learn a lot by watching this and seeing if any trend develops like Big East teams going 4-0 against SEC teams or something like that. Last year two CAA teams made the Final Four of the NIT and George Mason went to the Final Four in the NCAAs. A Missouri Valley team made the Final Four and Wichita St went to the Elite 8. There are a lot of correlations between the success of conferences in the NIT and the NCAAs although it is very important to watch whatever games you can to not allow any results where a team just quit on the season to cloud your judgement.

How is Akron not in the NIT...or did they turn down a bid??

I wish Packer would die. (Well not really!) I can't stand his overwhelming egotisitical attitude.
