I've got a hunch Grits is a previously banned poster who's just looking to start trouble.

I honestly thought I remember "her" being a "him" before the black Sunday that wiped all the new people out. I could be wrong though.

I don't think so.

You can't be for real.

Yes, I'm quite, for real and your remarks are small.

Listen hun....I have "connected" with more people on this board than you could ever imagine.

There is an owner and 2 other moderators on this board. If they see fit that someone is posting in a manner unbecoming, they will kindly let that person know and they have the power to delete such posts. I don't think that it is your decision to determine what topics need to be discussed via Private Messaging.

No I have no desire to moderate anything. Though I'm wise enough to know that men are far more interested in what they cannot see as opposed to what's shoved in their face. And forwardly touting one's sexual creativity, and multiple prowess in that creativity on a public messageboard is pretty mindless. Most women have more pride, more self esteem.

This is a large place, so its cool, y'all carry on.

It seems to me that most women have a sense of humor too and realize that not everything said on a message board reflects real life. The personas portrayed in the wonderful world of the internet do not always match the personas displayed in real life. I think the quicker you learn that fact, the less dissapointed you will be.

Have a wonderful day hun.

just because someone feels a certain way, doesn't mean they should have the belief that it's a common feeling. of course very often people project their own character traits onto others. it's why honest people get ripped off, they think everyone else is honest as well. also explains why a cheater always thinks he's being cheated....so if hijackings bother some, they must bother everyone.
i think it depends more on the mood at the time--when some of us get into a discussion, and the thread is growing by the minute, it would be hard for someone later to come in, read the thread, and know what was going on at that ime. they wonder wtf happened. kind of like entering a room and catching the tail end of a joke-everyone is laughing, but you don't get it.
it's all in good fun. don't know why anyone wants to get their undies in a wad about what's posted. to me, it's like a newspaper or magazine, you don't necessarily read or enjoy all the articles-but others do-but the paper as a whole is one you enjoy. do you write and complain that your tastes aren't being catered to?? i hope not.

I totally agree with this...well said.

And I should mention as a moderator that there ARE threads occasionally that get edited after the fact when we feel that they have taken an bad turn to get them back on topic...or they get moved altogether to esoteric...
but for the most part what Danzig points out is true...a bunch of people contributing rapid fire to one thread often means that several ideas are being discussed simultaneously (not all of them on point) but in the interest of not outright censoring people, usually it is only those posts that are blatantly offensive that are removed.

Sightseek 03-08-2007 06:42 AM

For the record I think Cajun & GPK are probably the most friendly people on this board and GPK always seems pretty concerned about how others feel.

Well said Danzig. :)

After your remarks about me, please do not call me "hun", which by the way is spelled "hon" where I'm from, that is unless you are speaking of Attilla the HUN, which I can be when jacked around.

As far as personas, I have only one. What you see (read) is what you get, exactly, in real life; along with Southern grace. Keyboard badasses, who show up in person like last night's fish are not my deal.

And as far as my sense of humor, its incredible, I mean think about, I'm answering your post. That's a fine indicator.

GPK, I believe we're done. Its been real.

Thank you posting Paisj. Rapid fire is great, when someone comes in and dances off to left field with the entire thread though, that's a whole 'nother matter.

And its not easy to keep such things from happening, nor is it easy to put things back together. Moderating is difficult.

Anyone else enjoying the irony here as much as I am?

Coach Pants 03-08-2007 08:38 AM

I'm enjoying it. Either a banned poster or a random psychopath.

Just curious...GRITS what was the thread or threads that led you to this observation??

Am I new here? Yes, pretty much. Am I being bold to state this? Probably. Freedom of speech and all that, sure. But damn hijacking threads posted at a website so that one has to drudge through 5 pages of crap to come back to the topic at hand.

Esoteric central is a fine place, but does one feel they will not garner enough attention in that folder?

Y'all carry on. I'll keep tryin' to drudge thru.

Hon or hun can vary, depending on where in the south you are raised. I have seen it both ways.

I do appreciate you pointing out you have only 1 persona, as it is nice to know there are still real people in this world. I have met many people from this board is person and I feel incredibly confident in saying that each and everyone of them will speak the same about me. Im a wonderful friend, loyal to a fault and very generous. All of that is part of what makes me the true southern gentleman that I am.

I must apologize if I came across in a crass manner. I have an incredibly weird sense of humor that most on here are used to. The ironic thing about this whole thing is that you and I would most likely get along wonderfully in the real world.

Anyways...if you are willing to start over, I'm happy to call a truce. If not, I understand your decision there as well.

Kev
