this is sad. EVen when the offense is good, it stinks. 13 hits and 6 walks through 8 with only 5 runs. that is virtually impossible. Carrasco duplicated Tomlin's effort. 2 runs in 7. They'll figure out a way to screw it up. Urns is ridiculous. He went 1 for 5. That raised his average!
|
!!!!
Highly amusing!! |
What's the proper baseball lexicon?? Small village left on base? Does 15 qualify as a major metropolitan area?
|
It counts as a win!! Tomlin and Carrasco are 17-8 combined. It should actually be better than that. They both seem to be pretty good. 9-6 in interleague play....not very good considering they were once 6-0. On to Kentucky's team to close it out.

!! They're slow? I feel better blaming the base runners. |

!! Let's hope we play Dahla's Team... soon. |
Exhausto is on pace to lose 20 this year. Aren't many able to do that!
|
I'm hoping he gets too tired to actually do it and gets a few wins out of spite.
|
rolling and laughing!!
Speaking of laughing...the stadium announcer, was he stifling a laugh when Urns had to be announced as a pinch hitter the other day?? |

I can honestly say, I would prefer to see Lou Marson. Shelley Duncan, Travis buck, Orly Cabrera in a clutch situation than Grady. That is where Grady's career is right now.
|
stop it!!
Mah belly hurts! |
He's gang name is now Graddy Sizeless.
|
Make that Granny Sizeless.
|
I can't believe he washed up faster than Rick Manning. Rick must be chuckling silently on the cable broadcasts thinking "man, he's not even as good as I was as a Brewer!"
|
Well that plus DH Hafner who can't do anything but dh and that's when they are not playing an NL team....and when he's not hurt, that's 20 million tied up in two players who don't play all that much.
What was Shapiro thinking?? |

I guess I was thinking more of the brunt of that 20 million...Hafner.
Oh it's water over the dam. Who cares now? I shouldn't have injected it into this mess. But they are starting to resemble Major League I |
ON the bright side the trend now is to not hit. The Giants are world champs and they can't hit crap...never could...never will. They're starting to pull away again. The Tiggers have the best pitcher in the AL in Verlander, but I was looking at them the other day, and they have no other starters with an ERA under 4. The Indians have 3 of them. They don't pitch nearly as well as the Indians for the most part, though they do pretty much have that automatic win every 5th day which is nice. They have a couple good relievers....Albuquerque and Valverde but not nearly as many good ones as the Tribe (despite the melt down last night!). I hate to say it, but the key to the rest of the year is Exhausto. If he were just pitching like last year, we'd still be 5-6 games up. If he can somehow figure it out we contend all year, if he continues his 20 loss pace, good night Irene.
|
Hey that's a great point, was thinking about it myself. If the relievers just stay the same and the starters get just an itty bitty ( TM ) better........
Oh fucl< it. They'll still suck. |
We're back in first place. Tigger pitching gave up 16 today after only giving up 14 yesterday. Verlander goes tomorrow so we will only be in first place for another half day, but June 30th still there!!
|
!!
Thank our luckies for the AL Central. |
Wow, JJ Hickson got traded to Jimmer Fredette's team for an Israeli bench player. That is so exciting and also a 1st round pick only if Sacto isn't in the lottery which would seem to be impossible. Luckily they won't be playing in 2011/2012 so we won't have to witness some craziness going on there.
|
And just as I thought, Verlander made our return to first very short. He's not pitching tonight though!

Omri Caspri is his name I think. He is the original Israeli in the NBA. Anthony Parker was a legend in the Israeli professional league. So just as the Indians are America's and South Korea's team, the Cavs are undoubtedly Israel's team now. |
Oh now those were good ones.
I think the Tribe is winning,too. |
:D
|
Wow, 8 runs. That is a slow pitch softball field they have in Kentucky there. Nice for Bat to get some runs finally...more than he's had all of May and June...he pitched great. Back in first place....July 1st!! 10-6 in interleague now. Exhausto and Talbots in that field scares me though.
|
They have escaped a 70's like June Swoon.
You're right, though.....Reds hitters are already salivating. AC is having an incredible year, thus ruining my prediction Brantley would prove to be their best position player. This is why I now hate him. |
Exhausto takes one for the team!! Saw the final score and thought, all right Exhausto finally pitched a good one, then read he pitched two scoreless innings fell running to first base tripping over the bag and hurting his whole body, and came out of the game! 2 shutout innings is two shutout innings however and he probably knew he was about done. Nice job exhausto.
(3 run homer by your guy for all the scoring!) |
spit!!
And I didn't even know they played!! AMERICA'S TEAM is back! |
It was a fine display of the strength of the team as every member of the bullpen pitched but C Perez who will be back from grandma's funeral tommorrow. Herrmann was dominant. Durbin actually pitched well late, and Pestano struck out the side in the 9th in his fill in closer role until Perez gets back.
|
Thanks for all the fill in,HC.
That Pastano guy has been amazing. AMERICA'S SET UP MAN. |
Talbots lit up badly. Oh well, it happens. Pen stellar again, kept them in it.
|
fucl<age
|
I'm in a good mood, any time we split Exhausto and Talbot's starts, we are ahead of the game!! We have our 3 best going against the Spankees. A big CC, little CC matcup on Tuesday, I'd " almost" pay to see that one! I'd be very happy to take 2 of 3 in that series too.
|
But I demand excellence...this is not acceptable. If they don't win the next 15 games, phooey on them.
Who is "Little CC ? " |

(you have to youtube exhausto running to first on his bunt yesterday, even without putting himself onthe DL, there is no way he could have continued to pitch in perfect health, to run that slowly that hard, is simply not physically possible. I don't think he knew he was hurt. He just told Manny he was way too tired to go on.) I found it....he's quite an athlete.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf3UZudWAkg& |
