So here's my contribution of todays hauntings.....

http://www.hauntedtravels.com/louisiana_ghosts.htm

The Bourbon Orleans Hotel, New Orleans
Several spirits still stay on at this hotel on Bourbon St. in New Orleans. In the 1800s the Quadroon Ball was held there, where young African American/Creole women made their social debuts. The story goes that a young woman and a gentleman met at one of the balls here and fell in love. He went off to fight in the Civil War and never returned and she committed suicide. A few times a year a couple from that era are seen separately in the large ballroom area, apparently searching for each other. Another ghost is said to be that of a gambler who lost his house in a poker game in one of the parlors there used for card games. Upon handing over the deed he shot and killed himself. From 1881 to 1963 the building was a convent. The nuns in the convent took in many orphans, some of whom died there of yellow fever. A nun has been seen, children’s voices are heard, and sometimes children’s faces are seen in the windows of the upper floors. Crying comes from one room, and water faucets will turn on by themselves. Oh, and be sure to look up as well as around when you enter – chandeliers in the hotel sometimes swing for no reason. The hotel has 211 guest rooms including suites. They have a restaurant, bar and pool onsite and offer a “Haunted History Tour” nightly that leaves from the lobby. 717 Orleans St., New Orleans LA 504.523.2222

I had that happen multiple times when I stayed there, plus other very odd things.

My next haunting will be this real castle!

Here's a really cool picture of it, but it's huge

Mortimer 07-14-2008 12:18 PM

It's a buggie.

Mortimer 07-14-2008 10:39 PM

Someday I would like to write a play about a person who wants to write their thoughts; real thoughts everyone has, but won't say them because they think no one else has the same thoughts, but they do...and when the person writes these thoughts everyone who has the same thoughts calls the person names.

ror!...NNNNNO fucl<in' way !!

Mortimer 07-14-2008 10:46 PM

I am a Josh Hamilton thread survivor.

Mortimer 07-14-2008 10:48 PM

Or is it Josh Frey?

Oh I'm kidding..of course.

Mortimer 07-14-2008 10:49 PM

I have to say...I cleaned that thread out pretty doggoned fast.

Mortimer 07-14-2008 10:51 PM

Ever a hear buffoon try to sound smart and say..."I believe everyone wants to do good."

They don't.

Mortimer 07-14-2008 10:59 PM

I will NEVER write that play!!!

Mortimer 07-14-2008 11:31 PM

Hi!! My name is Famous Person and boy did I fucl< up.

BLECH.

I ain't buyin' it.

Mortimer 07-14-2008 11:46 PM

And so....what 3 things have we learned?

We have learned that you cannot say what you think because other people think them, too, but don't like it and will call you names if you say it.

Now say......Don't believe everything you read or hear or see.

That's 2 things.

Say.......I will not buy romantic novels....for they suck.

Do not create false idols even if they claim to be false idols.

That might be 4 things.

This is a good thing.

Mortimer 07-14-2008 11:47 PM

Sleep well my good friends...and find fault with yourself.

Do it before someone else does it for you.

Mortimer 07-15-2008 06:52 AM

I soon will leave for Sara'sToga.

I will not be part of any idiot group.

I know what many of you look like....no one knows what I look like; except Sighty.

:)

I have been privately putzing around via pm with UnclyTrust.

She's going to teach me how to be a lesbian.

:)

I won't be returning after I leave...ever again.

Stop that applauding.

I just hope Stevie appreciates your efforts. God knows his NT empire would come crumbling down around him without you.

Yes, there is an excellent thread full of travel tips from some of the Vegas vets that I must get caught up on. Those are always so enlightening.

geeker2 07-15-2008 10:00 AM

Bye Morte..

I will soon start a thread about visiting Cleveland and wanting to know the best places to stay, eat, picnic, sunbath etc....I will be visiting next Jan/Feb.

I hope you will contribute.
