SCUDSBROTHER 02-17-2007 05:21 PM

Root, your 3 horse in the 3rd got crushed coming out of the gate. Then,Potts' horse left the rail open........then came down...then came out....Prado tried rail...Potts' blocked him,and Prado had to come out.Potts' horse started coming out at the wire.Evidently you don't have to keep a straight path at all(as long as you are in front of a horse, you can do anything.)

I give up. This is ri-goddamn-diculous.

TitanSooner 02-17-2007 06:14 PM

they should run that horse at 870 down here.

Gander 02-17-2007 06:18 PM

I gave up 2 hours ago. I think Siren Lure wins this next race, but waiting for tomorrow now. Watch him win by 5 and pay $15.

Coach Pants 02-17-2007 06:20 PM

If I bet Siren Lure he'll go 20 and 42 and have a heart attack and die when he hits the stretch. I can expect this at Los Al...but this is Santa Anita. This track has gone downhill so much I doubt it will ever recover.

Tyler can't ride a lick right now.. has absolutely zero confidence (and little ability) in properly rating a horse.

He's winging when he should knuckle them down a hair and getting them bottled up when they should be up into the pace.

TitanSooner 02-17-2007 06:29 PM

I like Proud Tower Too..

Gander 02-17-2007 06:30 PM

I liked Siren Lure's last race and I think hes due for a win. Feel hes just better than these and doesnt necessarily need a pace collapse to win. Thinking he catches Proud Tower Too late. Those 2 for me.

Coach Pants 02-17-2007 06:35 PM

I like the cripple Ramsgate.

If Cohen doesn't float the horse 3 wide on the final turn, they win the race.

Coach Pants 02-17-2007 06:44 PM

frustrating day. I could've had the tri.

Someone tell Cohen to keep looking through his legs, he thought he had that horse pegged and couldn't go by. He tried to be cute and got f#cked, the #6 should have taken that race, IMO

I think Cohen's biggest mistake was not making the lead. This horse cant win without. Should have been gunned to the lead, he has run faster than Latent Heat ran today. Proud Tower had it today and would have been the winner with a more aggressive jockey.

Watched PTT in his last two races and when he turns for home he raises his head high like he can't get air. He had the best position setting on the outside of the pace setter and couldn't go by.

Gander you are right on the money. At 7 furlongs the speed wins.

Gander 02-17-2007 06:56 PM

Proud Tower Too needs the lead. Its really that simple. I have no doubt he would have won tonight had he outsprinted Prado's horse early. I dont think he would have let Latent Heat by.

Saratoga can't get here any sooner.

If Gryder was on PTT...he never looks back:mad:

Coach Pants 02-17-2007 07:24 PM

Has the jockey colony ever been this bad in SoCal? I can't recall it being this horrible.

goingtothewhip 02-17-2007 08:16 PM

At seven furlongs tactical speed wins... Latent Heat is simply a better horse than PTT at 7f. Cut back to 6f and you have a whole different animal. What will be interesting is how he does when he stretches out in the Met. I think the best is yet to come.

Where did Proud Tower Too run faster?

TitanSooner 02-18-2007 12:50 AM

I played the wrong Malibu winner.

SCUDSBROTHER 02-18-2007 04:15 AM

I don't understand the rides on PT2,or TT2.Looks like Valdivia kept TT2 from getting involved early.I mean the pace is what 22.53? WTF are you doing? You're 13-1.Go take your shot. You sure won't get this horse interested from back there. You gotta be no more than a length back into the turn.He probably isn't good enough, but you sure didn't give him a shot to show what he had. Then,we have the gem of a ride by Cohen.WTF is this guy looking behind his right shoulder(on the backstretch) for?????Prado goes right by down at the rail, and Cohen is looking for others(outside of himself??)....LOL......When did this genius decide that PT2 is a presser? He gave Prado the lead going 22.53,and expected to run him down?? This is an odd race (to me.)If ever there was a case where guys are thinking too hard,it was this race.Stick to your horse's style.I want to see what happens if PT2 IS ALLOWED TO LEAD INTO THE TURN.....with TT2,and LH pressing. This is the race we expected.Too bad we got 2 guys too scared to let their horses run.

Gander 02-18-2007 07:09 AM

Where did Proud Tower Too run faster?

I was referring to the early splits. Proud Tower Too has run faster than the splits that Cohen allowed Latent Heat to run in this race. An aggressive jockey could have easily made the lead with Proud Tower Too and I believe he would have been very hard to run down. Looked like he had his A game today but he is a need the lead type. A very good need the lead type, but still no way is this horse a stalker.

Gander 02-18-2007 07:19 AM

As an additional thought, Proud Tower Too is just as good at 7F as he is 6F. That extra furlong was not the problem. He was a winner today at 7F had he simply made the lead.

All I know is that these horses are good enough that the horse who gets the lead going 22.53 is gunna win........f'n period..

Gander 02-18-2007 11:14 AM

You can be sure that he wont make the same mistake in Dubai in just over a month. He goes out winging early on that straightaway, that you can be sure of. Wont be much of a price.

I wouldn't be surprized to see someone else riding PTT. I understand that David doesn't have the best morning work ethic and he has a new agent as of last week.
