Bossy Betty Lou, my 2yo Street Boss filly, broke her right leg and had to be put down today.
I just saw her last week at Presque Isle, as we were pointing her toward a July debut. She was a friendly, energetic filly with a high motor, who like to play with plastic balls in her stall. She loved having a ball bounced off her head and nuzzle her trainer, Nick Caruso. He and his fiance Amanda are devastated as she was the light of the barn. A real character. After the high notes of Chantilly, this could not feel any lower. RIP Bossy. Otis |

Thanks, casp.
Here is a 1-min clip of Nick trying to play ball with her. She did not fully cooperate, but you can see she was a joker. http://youtu.be/rBy9Io0KlKM O |
Sorry Otis. Worst feeling ever. Healing vibes sent from the shore of the Atlantic. May she rest in peace. Same chestnut color and three white stockings as Secretariat.

Otis, I am so sorry to hear this.
My sincerest sympathy. |

Wish there were more Carl and John's out there. “This was one of my wife’s favorite horses,” Domino says. “After we claimed her, she stopped dead in the shedrow as soon as she heard my wife’s voice. She’s such a nice filly to be around and we’re all happy to have her back.” The reunion occurred on the backside of Belmont Park after Race 3 on May 20 http://offtrackthoroughbreds.com/201...tting-her-out/ |
Molly Morgan with a hairline fracture in one of her sesamoids.
"Very few horses retire on a good note, but this filly doesn't owe us anything," Romans said. "I'm so proud of how far she came to become a grade I winner and I'm looking forward to seeing some of her babies." http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...morgan-retired |

Happy retirement to globe trotter Crackerjack King... winner of the Derby Italiano (Danedream was 3rd) and the G1 Premio Presidente della Repubblica.
He ran in Italy, France, at Arlington, in Australia... just a wonderful horse to follow and root for. (He's a half to both Jakkalberry and to Kidnapping). Hope he'll have a long and happy like at Oakside Park. :) Nice little video with Mr. Botti... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6HPV3dbX5o Happy retirement and thanks for the memories! ![]() |
