Thanks Kitan.
Awesome that Blazing Speed won and whoa... Gibson totally ruled the Sprint Cup. Didn't hit it but oh well, it's all good! Replay(s): (for anyone who missed it and cares. There's also the mini-site that Kitan linked previously)... http://racing.hkjc.com/racing/Info/M.../20150426/ST/8 http://racing.hkjc.com/racing/Info/M.../20150426/ST/7 I am assuming Lucky Nine still goes to Singapore to defend his Kris Flyer title no matter what... |
Was catching up on Lugers earlier replays... Jesus that is a nice horse. No one beats Able Friend but it will be interesting to see how the Champions Mile plays out.
Love that the mini-site always has the replays of past greats. Good Lord Bullish Luck, Able Friend, Good Ba Ba ... those will always be my favorites of all time. http://campaign.hkjc.com/en/2015-cm/...st-winner.aspx |
Spectacular!
Able Friend winning the Champions Mile... http://racing.hkjc.com/racing/video/...no=08&lang=eng |
Completely dominant. I know they ran the first half in 50 seconds, but his final 1/4 was a shade over 21. Breathtaking stuff.
|
That was a stunning performance.
Nice to see Princess Coup's son Thewizardofoz make a winning debut. :) |
Able Friend is awesome indeed. any plans on racing outside of Hong Kong this year?

Curious to see if he can accelerate the same way on the flat mile. I don't expect it to be an issue, however. He is a beast.

10 years ago next Thursday...
I walked away like a broken person, recalls Felix Coetzee of Silent Witness' upset http://racing.scmp.com/freeservice/n...20150503aa.asp |

I will never forget that and as if to foreshadow remember that SW's workout buddy Highlili beat him in a barrier trial? I did not fall apart... I was a huge Bullish Luck fan (a fan of both) but I remember the call so perfectly and the massive crowd going completely silent... feeling so bad for Felix. I love following NZ especially these days and there are some phenomenal horses over there but yeah... those were the great days of HK racing - my favorite of all time - and I was so lucky to have stumbled up it at the right time as I had only been a racing fan for one year. Had glanced at this in the SCMP but very happy you posted it so I could read it again. :) |
Man, it is time to retire good old California Memory.
Good for Andreas for pulling him up... |
Able friend gets the green light for Royal Ascot!

Very very happy and I know you are too. :) If only they could all have such careers and such happy endings. Geez I am about to start crying again. Must get a grip now! :D |
It gets even better... California Memory to Living Legends.
Who could ask for anything more... :) :{>: http://racing.scmp.com/freeservice/n...ws20150614.asp |

The Hong Kong racing public bid a collective farewell Sunday to onetime Horse of the Year California Memory, who has been retired from racing at the age of nine. The only horse in history to record back-to-back runnings of the G1 Hong Kong Cup, the diminutive gray, bred by Fred Seitz, won 12 times and amassed earnings of nearly US$6.7 million. He will live out his days at Living Legends Retirement Facility in Australia.

John Blance is the new presenter/commentator/pundit with the HKJC for this upcoming year. Comes from Britain where he calls for At The Races and SIS. Can't say I know too much about him and his calls are a bit hard to find but interested to see how he gets on!
