Stauffer wanted the job. He knew the job was recently filled by Wrona. Instead of badmouthing Wrona and explaining how stupid the board was to give the job to anybody else, Stauffer uses a surprisingly smart technique by writing some puff piece extolling how much he loves Fair racing and how much he misses it and how it was his family that forced him to leave a job who would have done for free. Did he mention Wrona's name? No but who cares, he didn't have to nor would it have been a smart move to do so. Instead he prays on the soft side of the people on the board and asks them to be the callous assholes that he is by removing Wrona and bringing back himself.

Nice job Vic. You are a real class act.

Its not as simple as who cares? Its really not even news at all, someone clearly had an axe to grind. 3 different boards, the exact same post, by the exact same poster. Is that OK? Is it out of line for me to bring that up?

Coach Pants 02-29-2012 12:11 PM

What does Rocktard get paid for the handicapping gig? Chocodiles?

Two boards. Since I post at both, I thought I would post it at both.

I realize you make it a habit of NEVER telling the truth, but I won't let you get away with your lies.

Antitrust32 02-29-2012 12:16 PM

In re-reading it I am understanding more where you guys are coming from.

Specifically the part where he says he will do the job for half price or free. That is crossing the line when someone else has already been hired to do the job. I still have no problem of expressing your desire to do a certain job and trying to help yourself out in the future, but the lines about the pay should not have been in the letter.

He has no axe to grind. Dahoss is simply pointing out something that happened in this industry that was a scummy thing to do that was perpetrated by someone who has been mired in conflicts of interests throughout his career. I, for one, am glad that Mr. Dahoss has brought this to all of our attentions.

How many pm's about this have you sent today? The over/under was 5 and I took the over. Did I win?

Danzig 02-29-2012 12:55 PM

the write up in the minutes says that vic asked them to 'reconsider' their decision...so it seems that everyone knows the job has been filled, which he's trying to change. so yeah, it appears he's asking for someone else to get dumped so he can have a job back.

considering your posting history, i'd wager many would say yes to that question.

I knew it was only a matter of time before you made this about you. You have no idea what is right or wrong as you have shown in the past over and over again.

I don't know who's stupider. RTH for being himself, or Hoss for letting himself become engaged in a prolonged dialog with RTH.

I don't know man. You've actually talked with him and helped him out with stuff right? Where does that put you on the stupid scale?

What I would like to know is how the Sonoma County fair meeting minutes were discovered in the first place? Is this something one randomly stumbles upon while perusing the internet?

Ever take the high road or do you always tred in the sh*t? Do you even know what kind of bitter, unlikable person you appear to be?

I am not saying you did anything wrong. You didn't. But you are very eager to hurt anyone you can with whatever means necessary.

It's too bad because you likely have a lot of good to offer and certainly know the game. Why not stick to positive things once in a while?

Here's an idea - Just get the fucl< out

All you've ever manage to accomplish here is to redboard and troll. You don't add anything substantive to any discussion that you're part of, or more accurately, shoehorn your way into.

Seriously dude, you've made an ass of yourself in the selections room, now you're going for the double here - quit while you're ahead

I'd like to know who is going to buy their $5.00 10 oz. beers this year. That seems excessive.

that's one thing that stuck out to me when I scrolled through the minutes. No thanks. I stick with the $2 beers at Tampa.

Yeah. My experience with him was that he would say whatever he needed to say to deny any responsibility for himself. I think he actually would believe himself too.

Yeah Hoss, what's your problem? Stauffer is an upstanding citizen and has never brought any controversy or bad publicity to horse racing. Leave the guy alone.

May I ask,who hired RockTard for a handicapping gig?

He is self-employed.

Dear Madam or Sir,

My name is Vic Stovetop. I have worked in the horse racing industry for 35 of my 54 years on the planet Earth and 7 of the other 19 on Mars. I feel so blessed that as a young man I convinced one of the trainers at Hoosier Park to fire a groom and to hire me instead. What a great life it's been.

Here are some of my accomplishments:
  • Over 44,000 races called and 42,964 correct orders of finish
  • Seven years as an announcer at a track that ending up firing me
  • Eleven years as a race caller with 10 years and 8 months of those 11 years yelling ZEEEEEEEEN-YA-TAAAAAAA
  • I was an original member of the worst handicapping program on the air
  • As a jockey agent, the jockey I represented had a complaint filed against him by the California Horse Racing Board alleging he "did not put forward his best effort riding his horse to the finish line" in the final race at Del Mar on Sept. 6.
  • As a horse owner I attempted to approach John Glenney the morning after the race and ask if Cedros, the horse the jockey I represent did not ride to the finish line, was for sale
  • In 2011 I was appointed and I still serve as a very important you-know-what for the state of California, wink, wink, know what I mean? Say no more.

I know this appears as very self serving, because it is, but that is not my intention, even though it is, but it would sound silly and self serving to say it is my intention, so it isn't.

Let me explain what happened in 2009 and 2010. I was vain, weak and stupid and I had a life.

Now let me explain what happened in 2011. I was vain, weak and stupid and I had no life.

As with most people with no life, I attempted to get as many jobs with as many conflicts of interest as I could muster. Pretty dumb, huh? But wait, there's more? Even though you already hired a guy, I want his job. Job? Funny... I don't even think of it as a job. I will do it for exactly $1 less than the other guy. If he'll do it for 7 grand, I'll do it for $6,999. If he'll do it for a dollar, I'll do it for free.

Thank you from the bottom of a bottomless pit for reading my words, and if you don't reconsider your decision based on this request you will wake up tomorrow with a horse head in your bed.

Please feel free to call me anytime at (415) UHIRE-ME.

Respectfully,

Victor Lasagna and Meat Sauce

What kind of horrible person would publish a guys personal phone number?

That's going too far!!!

Yes, your handicapping skills obviously aren't worth a damn if you think you can bribe someone like me into shutting up about abhorrently unethical behavior by assuming, like some narcissistic fool, I merely want be thought of as funny.

Please don't ever PM me again.
