His name was Wotsurpoison and although he was 4 this was his first race (Ayr yesterday).

I don't know what SU means in results, but I do know that he fell and that he's gone...

Rest in peace.

A French Horse who was, as name suggests, a French horse, yesterday at Towcester after falling.

It was only his 8th start (he was 8 years old) and of the 8 he'd won one and had fallen once before.

Rest in peace.

Sightseek 02-05-2011 10:25 AM

He was not a racehorse, but Robert Dover's lovely competitor, FBW Kennedy passed in his sleep...

She had only won 4 of her 38 starts but had hit the board in another 13 races.

Dansimar was a 7 year old daughter of Daylami who was fatally injured at Sandown on the 5th.

Unless I'm reading it incorrectly this was her first ever G3 try.

Sadly, she was owned by Let's Live Racing.

It's always sad but I found that, well... I just wanted to mention it.

Jump in peace, good girl.

Battlefield.

Excerpt...

Poor guy.

Messara loses Battlefield

Tuesday, 8 February 2011:

Smart sprinter Battlefield has had to be euthanized after breaking a shoulder in an exhibition gallop yesterday at Scone.

The lightly raced five-year-old, prepared on the course by Paul Messara, was on the comeback trail and close to returning to the races.

Galloping in between races, he put a foot wrong on the corner and broke down.

:(

For anyone who doesn't realize it, he was a son of Rakti who we lost in December.

Arakti was truly up and coming.

A brutal day.

Glencove Marina was 2nd in the G1 Hennessey Gold Cup at Leopardstown.

Results...

Glencove Marina collapsed after the line and lost his life. This was a truly black day for horseracing, and one which won't be quickly forgotten.

my miss storm cat 02-12-2011 03:01 PM

I guess today wasn't sad enough...

A second horse from the Hennessey Gold Cup is gone.

Rest in peace, Money Trix.

A shame.

Stewards' Reports for Asset Management (Meydan Masters Invitational)
TOPCLAS (FR) (W Buick) was slow to begin. Shortly after straightening, TELLURIDE (GB) (C Borel) lay inwards and bumped BAY WILLOW (IRE) (G Mosse). Approaching the 200m, the tiring BAY WILLOW (IRE) was momentarily crowded between TELLURIDE (GB) and AGE OF REASON (UAE) (R Hughes). Inside the final 100m, TELLURIDE (GB) was crowded for room between TOPCLAS (FR) and AGE OF REASON (UAE). LAWSPEAKER (GB) (H Uchida) was retired from the race shortly after straightening. A post-race veterinary examination of LAWSPEAKER (GB) revealed the colt to have fractured its right hind pastern. LAWSPEAKER (GB) was subsequently euthanized by the on course clinical Veterinarian.

FGFan 02-26-2011 12:32 PM

Belend, an 8 year old, in the 7th at the Fair Grounds yesterday clipped heels, fell and was euthanized. I believe he went off as the favorite.

He was a barn favorite for Gail and Michelle and a hard working boy in the claiming ranks that loved to race.
He won his last time out at the FG on Feb. 7th.
He was to be retired at the end of the year.

May he run with the angels and keep winning.

He will be missed.:(

Princess Charlie, Saw Perfection, California Blue and Hetch, all while training at Golden Gate in the past month and a half.

High Lode, again at Golden Gate, while racing.

(I didn't know whether to add him or not as there's been no official word but since Alan posted it and it's being reported on other forums figured it was, sadly, true).
