I am all for whatever keeps the airplane up. I dont mind scans, and i wish a female TSA agent would pat me down.

Air Israel uses college-educated, multi-lingual, trained professionals that pursue a direct line of questioning and are trained to observe and interpret a subject's responses. That is where they excel. Not on picking out Arabic names. It's where did you get the VISA, why in a secondary country, why a one-way ticket on a temporary VISA, what are you going for, who are you traveling with, why did you pay cash for your ticket, why is your passport new, etc.

We use minimum wage, GED equivalents. No wonder our best answer to a shoe bomber (who looked like any other black American, but stood out like a sore thumb fitting the "classic" traveling terrorist questioning) is "Everyone take off your shoes".

(probably better for you to to go off and find one of the recent interviews on American TV with ex-El Al security people). Yes, of course they use profiling, but it's much more than only names, or specifically names. You do realize I would guess (as does El Al) that if you profile based only on names, all terrorists have to do is ... use an alias. It's the sophistication of their questioning that is most important.
