Yeah, was Battaglia high on crack cocaine when he made Z 8/5?

Would like nothing more than to see her roll here … but 8/5 is ridiculous for a 6yo mare in this race.

Indian Charlie 11-03-2010 03:06 PM

Wow, his first good post evah, followed right up with another retahded one.

There is a tiny bit of hope at least.

You must be blind…

I know, running in and winning most of the time, all those restricted GI races all over the country doesn't mean anything to YOU, but it does (should) merit a lot of respect. Agree with you completely on the odds, 8/5 is silly but it will probably be even lower. People like to bet sentiment.

Even if it was commonplace for top mares to race till they were six, you'd be hard-pressed to find even one that could actually compete for the W in THIS particular race.

6yo mares ain't supposed to be able to hang with top colts which are two and three years younger.

That's why it will be SUPER impressive and super sweet if Z can pull this off.

Anyone with half-a-brain who follows the game could see that Azeri had no shot to win in '04 … even if the great GZ had never been entered.

I think Z has a decent shot to prevail on Sat for several reasons, but only a mad man would put her at 8/5 on the m/l.

By the way, thoroughly enjoyed your fine work ripping cons in the Politics section yesterday

And I am getting tired of it. It's all Zenyatta, all the time. As if there was no possibility of loss this weekend.

For one thing, Zenyatta didn't run in the championship level races at 2 or 3, in fact she barely ran at 3 at all. So she has had 3 years of stakes campaigning. If she had been at the top level at 2 and/or 3, yes, it would be uncommon for her be racing at 6. But she didn't, so the comparison doesn't apply.

Oh, and Makybe Diva had no problem beating up on boys when she was 6 and 7, even giving them weight. A three-peat in the Melbourne Cup tops any of Zenyatta's three-peats by a mile (almost literally).

Highly doubtful. Carothers has pointed out the question marks. So if people express positive opinions about her it means these people are lying.
I believe that.

I've tried the age argument with him before, and to a lesser extent, other mares beating males at top levels of competition.

I've become convinced that when reading your post, all Smoothie will see is:

Xxxxxxxxxxxxx, Zenyatta xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx championship xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx she xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx she xxxxxxxxxxxxx stakes xxxxxxxxxxx. Xx she xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx top level xxxxxxxxxxxx, yes, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx her xxxxxxxxxxxx 6. Xxx she didxxx, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx boys xxxx she xxx 6 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. A three-peat in the Breeders Cup xxxxxxxxxxx Zenyatta's xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Don't think you get what I'm saying.

Couldn't care less if the 6yo mare began her career at age two or age six … made one career start or 80 … ran in zero stakes races or 50

What I'm saying is that it's highly unlikely that a 6yo mare … any 6yo mare … even, say, PE had she hung around … would be fast enough to win the BCC.

Hell, some pretty good 6yo males (C and the lightly raced PP, in particular) have tried to win the race and failed.

Also, not sure why you brought up the MC as I specifically said this race (BCC) … even put 'this' in caps.

Is there anything you can get straight?

When Pants said 'you' he meant you Smoothie, not me.

Isn't just the plane crash enough? Does it have to be firey?

I'll use the all time greatest witticism to reply to that.

Are you ready?

Are you sitting down?

Ok, here goes!

Sharp post.

You'll have to ask Pants when he comes back on, Vic.

Think he gets his nails done on Friday mornings.

Frankly, I'd rather see somebody take IC out to the Bermuda Triangle … run a chum line till a few great whites show up … then make him take a dip.

Since Great Whites are typically found in cooler waters, I guess I'd be waiting a long time to take that dip.

Speaking of dips however, I'm happy to see your improved effort at insulting me.
