Here's a bigtime softball. When she didn't get hurt or fall on her head coming out of the gate - she was awesome. Name her.

RockHardTen1985 08-23-2010 10:45 PM

Yeah - wide and off the pace at Keeneland is no place to be when you had the kind of speed she did.

This horse was favored over Serena's Song in the BC Distaff. Name her.

Yep.

This promising filly did eventually win a Grade 1 as a 2yo - but only because Flanders failed a drug test after dusting her. She was eventually later 3rd to Flanders and Serena's Song in the BC Juv Fillies as well.

Name her.

hockey2315 08-23-2010 10:54 PM

How were horses possibly this much faster back then?

Because they didn't race just five or six times a year against Rinterval and Dance to my Tune in slow paced exhibitions.

This one was not very fast .... but she was pretty nice and honest - traveled - and was around for a while I believe. The two seconds to Serena's Song.

i was ignoring you. . . i don't think you realize how vague saying a horse had a 126 timeform is. here's one for you: horse ran a 100 beyer. . . trainer doesn't like broccoli.

This one is tough. She's the dam of a very awesome horse. Smithwick got her right but she was dismantled by Serena's Song and Urbane in her stakes debut. Name her.

hockey2315 08-23-2010 11:11 PM

Mari's Sheba, dam of Congaree.

Congaree was the awesome horse.

The Indomitable DrugS 08-23-2010 11:17 PM

Yep.

Serena's Song also met superstars like Lakeway and Yank's Music. She actually met Alphabet Soup in the Santa Anita Handicap the year he upset Cigar in the Breeders Cup Classic .. and both her and Alphabet Soup just so happened to turn in like career worst performances on the same day.

I think Alphabet Soup was just spent after his San Antonio battle with Soul Of The Matter ..

An old one.. she'd go on to produce the dam of Sky Beauty, she'd also produce a very fast, shadow intimidated sprinter..

After breaking her leg as a 2-year-old - this freakishly talented horse toyed with Serena's Song at Turfway in a race that set the clock on fire over a dead as can be racetrack.

Hollywood made a very bad movie about her - and her first offspring is a top stallion now. Name her.

I once worked as an agent for Mariah's Storm's rider. Bobby Lester. Good guy.

Ok. Here's my trivia question.

Name the only horse to win a Breeders' cup race that broke it's maiden on the Northern California Fairs?

Thor's Echo ?

v j stauffer 08-24-2010 11:57 AM

Not Thor's Echo.

KirisClown 08-24-2010 02:26 PM

Spain

ranger5830 08-24-2010 05:59 PM

That might have been the best maiden race ever in northern California, both the winner and runner-up went on to win grade 1 races, who was the runner-up and what race did she win?

Rings a Chime - won the Ashland and was retired after a 2nd in the Oaks and a no-showing in Black Eyed Susans.

Also is the Dam of Black Cat Crossing who brought 3+M at Saratoga as a yearling, Liston who has disappeared and multiple stakes winner Country Star.
