I read that Wall Street is headed to the Windsor Park Plate.
Any idea who else is? |
Yeah Wall Street is, and he'll renew his battle with Keep The Peace.
Here is the list of entries for that race, which is on September 18: Keep The Peace Vosne Romanee Veloce Bella Wall Street Hold It Harvey (AUS) Fritzy Boy Illuminates (AUS) My Keepsake Time Keeper Eileen Dubh Booming St Germaine Bulginbaah Pennacchio Arlington (AUS) Firebolt Very nice group. :) |
Jesus that is some list. There are only 10 that i like there. :D
I've forgotten... was Vosne Romanee Horse of the Year? |
Yeah, he beat Katie by 12 votes I think it was. I probably would have voted for Katie, but I'm not complaining that he won. He won three G1s last season against great fields.
The step up to the mile will be good for him in this race, and a drier track would help him as well. |
One more question... how good is He's Remarkable?
|
VERY good! Roger James said he could be the best horse he's had since Zonda, which is...wow.
Here's his debut on Wednesday: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xer...markable_sport Also have a look at these two, if you have time: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xer...andready_sport http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xer...-secrecy_sport I think we have some nice 3yos this season! |
All three links say they'll be available soon (I've never seen that before) but thanks and i will keep checking back.
Nice name and yeah good thing he is cause if he were really slow... :D |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnPoiQer62k
I'm a bit disappointed. :( She has a few excuses - it was her first start since March and she looked a bit fat; there was a bit of a bias towards leaders; there was some rain on the day and the track might have been a bit wetter than she liked - but I was hoping for better. Hope she improves a lot between now and her next start. |
She will. :)
|
She was 3rd in her first start last season...
Maybe she's like Youmzain and needs a while to get going. |
This is what Graeme says...

Ed...she's a floater.
Give it up. |
How good does Antonio Lombardo look?
Oh and Upsala is still running, right? Thanks! |
Antonio Lombardo looks pretty good, but his stablemate Alvesta beat him by six lengths on debut and Peter McKay says "Alvesta's in another class". Alvesta is going to Sydney for his next start. I think Antonio Lombardo is being aimed at some of the big races here between January and April.
Upsala is still running. He's 25-1 at the moment for the 2000 Guineas. Fields are confirmed for the second big day at Hastings this Saturday... Fantastic fields!
Unreal. Thanks for the insight on those two. |
Stupid question but is Dating undefeated?
|
Almost. She's 3-for-4. She came 4th in her first start after missing the break, and has won 3 in a row since then - the last one was a stakes race.
She is actually the favourite at the moment for the Gold Trail at $4.20, just ahead of Banchee at $5. Wall Street is the favourite for the Windsor Park Plate. Sounds like the track is drying out nicely down there today - it's a sunny, warm and windy day. :) |
The track is just a little bit sticky. It seems to be causing some problems for a few of the runners.
Maradona was a very impressive winner in the second race on the card. He won by three with his ears pricked. He's heading for the Hawke's Bay Guineas on October 2, and on that performance, he'll be a huge chance! The Gold Trail is about an hour away now. I'll go for Banchee ahead of Dating and a longshot, Macavity, who is trained by Roger James and finished nicely in her only start so far. I'll stay with Keep The Peace ahead of Wall Street in the Windsor Park Plate. St Germaine for third. Hope they're great races. |
Rememba Howe wins the Gold Trail!
She was a maiden two weeks ago...now she's won two stakes races. She looks very, very good. Zennista second, Dating third. Banchee didn't seem to like the track and also seemed to resent being bumped by the winner about 200m out from the line. She was making a bit of a run until that happened, but then she gave up and stopped. She finished about 7th. She'll do better next time. |
Wall Street turns the tables!
Wall Street Fritzy Boy Keep The Peace |
Awesome!
|
You do realize that I need to see the Wall Street race, right ed? :D :)
Thanks in advance. I'm so happy and wow that was a fantastic field! GOOD boy! (Him, not you). (Oh well okay you are too). :p |
Haha, OK, here are the replays.

Hahahaha those were ***** fantastic and oh I am thrilled for Wall Street and yeah Banchee... next time!
You know who I wasreally impressed with this time around (and not just because I like him so much)? Fritzy Boy! Whoa what a nice run... he was flying! Thanks ed and thanks for the picture too. :) |
Yeah Fritzy Boy is in the best form of his life. Two really great performances in a row. So happy for him.

The latest on Miss Lee...

Really happy about this. I love that they're keeping her at 1400m to a mile, and it's awesome that her Hastings race is on the day I go to every year! I'll be there this year too, of course. |
Two nice stakes races for 3yo at Ellerslie yesterday.
Bonecrusher Stakes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuzOW3EoGZs Soliloquy Stakes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnwksbMi3G8 Hoofit was fourth in a G1 last year and stakes-placed, so it was good to see him finally win one. :) Singapore Sling decided not to take the turn in her last start. Naughty! But she was on her best behaviour yesterday and looks like a talented filly. |
VERY nice ed!
When Singapore Sling passes the wire, what exactly is the race caller saying? "... and welcome back ????"? Thanks! * * * Just watched the Bonecrusher and very nice as well BUT was rooting for Upsala. Last? :wf |
Upsala didn't like the wet track. I think he can be forgiven for that.
I think George said welcome back to the jockey, Vinnie Colgan. He broke two vertebrae in April, and this was his first day back riding. Nice way to come back! |
The last Sunline foal (3yo filly by Hussonet) makes her debut tomorrow.

I hope so too. :)
Please excuse me momentarily... lapsing into pretty horsie mode. Look at the sweet baby picture! http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/racing/...make-mum-proud |
That's a great picture!
Stephen McKee said she "lost the plot" today. She was very naughty behind the gates, rearing up and repeatedly refusing to go into the gates, and then she was throwing her head around early in the race. That must have sapped up all her energy, because she had the lead at the turn, but faded out of the money in the last bit. McKee says she's the fastest horse in his stable and will learn a lot from today. |

Mr. Ed.....
