nobody cares about that except horse racing fans. thats why we have HRTV and TVG. I imagine it was covered on one of those networks.

If Zenyatta skips Del Mar, she could be sent to the East Coast, although Shirreffs seemed cool to that idea on Monday.

"How many times do you really want to cross the country," he said.

now, that's funny. she hasn't crossed the country yet!

slotdirt 06-14-2010 06:15 PM

What are you talking about? Arkansas has beautiful beaches.

Obviously you can't make Zenyatta face the boys or race on real dirt. But Rachel looks to be back near top form, I'm sure fans of both would love to see RA go west. RA has no streak on the line, nothing to lose by facing Z on her own terms. I say step up and make something happen. I'm a fan of both, but I think Rachel would win if they met at Del Mar.

yeah, that's not gonna happen. no way jess jackson made so much about not running on poly in the bc but will go ahead and do that now.

But that was after such a taxing campaign. Sometimes sport is just about being the bigger man and stepping up. The RA camp has the chance to say OK we're giving you every advantage and we're still gonna kick you ass.

And Zenyatta's connections don't have the same chance?

You know what??? phuck it at this point. The Mosses are pussie, they are not coming across country, not even for the Classic. You're right Jackson really has nothing to lose at this point with Rachel. I say point Rachel towards the Pacific Classic, call Zenyatta out and take her out on her own track. And while shes at it take out all the top males on the used rubbers also. If she gets beat so what, its not her preferred surface and they can goat Zen to come to the Breeders cup and settle it once and for all on a conventional dirt surface in the Breeders cup, either it be the Classic or the distaff. This really isnt a half bad idea

Yes they do, but they seem to be the ones ducking. So step up and play their game. Would they have the nerve to duck in their own backyard?

You're right, of course. But seeing them turn tail and run might be better than beating them on the track.

:tro::tro::tro::tro:X100000000000

said I could only put 4 trophies up, but YES that would really shut the Zen backers up.

you folks crack me up how emotional you get about this stuff..

Who's getting emotional? I'm just sick of this sport shooting itself in the foot.

Remember Alydar and Affirmed? Remember Easy Goer and Sunday Silence?

Remember that time Rachel and Zenyatta ran on the same weekend? It was a day apart and they were about half a country from each other. But man was that some classic stuff.

Yep, just like they ducked the race in Hot Springs. Now, someone please rebut that statement.

I'm giving camp RA the benefit of the doubt that they weren't quite ready at that point, which is another reason why they should be the ones to step up.

They both seem to be coming into top form now, which is how I'd like to see them square off. So let's go ... next time out.

they had every reason not to go to that race, and you know it. the horse was clearly not ready at that point. it was wrong of jackson to even make the attempt, to say he'd be there.

Sounds good, the timing would be right. I'm so ready to get beyond this and to the next point of contention.......Quality Road is better than both of them right now.

No one wants to run on those crap surfaces out west if they don't have to, what don't people understand about that? It's a complete crapshoot whether or not a horse takes to it. I hope no top horse ever ships out west ever again, just so that garbage isn't validated as a proving ground. The dirt is where champions still prove their mettle, like it or not.

I agree, dirt is the surface of choice. It's never a crapshoot.

slotdirt 06-15-2010 07:30 AM

What PeteMugg is espousing is actually rather interesting to me. Now, I don't think Jackson would do it because A., he hates synths and B., he's probably very much ascared of both Rail Trip and Zenyatta, but wouldn't that be interesting to try to force the Mosses hand for once?

Exactly, nobody said that dirt isnt where champions are proven, but the Mosses are not coming cross country again. I HATE synthetics with a passion but this seems to be the only way they will be able to get these two to meet. And while they are at it they can stop Zenyatta's win streak

slotdirt 06-15-2010 07:52 AM

I don't think Rachel can beat Zenyatta on synths. I don't think anybody can, to be perfectly honest.

randallscott35 06-15-2010 08:08 AM

I think they should Match Race. Old School. Would be phenomenal. I know I'm dreaming.

the only time she did race on the poly it was huge......this whole thing is beyond tired anyway.

clyde 06-15-2010 01:57 PM

You are all very bad men!

Danzig 06-15-2010 04:31 PM

just read blame is being pointed to the whitney next. quality road and mine that bird are also expected.

now, wouldn't it be nice if rachel and zenyatta showed up? won't happen, but it would be one hell of a race if they did!!

Dont you think that someone should try to sponser this thing? With Blame and QR already going, and even though he sucks last years Derby winner, I think if they got a sponser and made this $5 million it could be race of the decade.

And if Zenyatta wins, A&M can give out broken records saying how great Zenyatta is.
