I'd love to know if that is him undecided on what level they belong or if he actually assigns both levels to the actual horse.

follow along my what I was trying to say, I should have used more words

Stonegossard says : Probably the best betting card of 2010 so far.

Crist says in retort : The sad reality is that it is now impossible to run a 13-race card in New York-- even once a year on its biggest day -- without resorting to multiple statebred and conditioned-claiming races -- something neither Churchill Downs nor Pimlico had to do to fill 25 races on Oaks and Derby Day and 26 races on Black-Eyed Susan and Preakness Day.

I guess it could be argued what the term "best" means versus quality.

Discreetly Mine runs a blockbuster race to duel with headcase Eightyfiveinafifty and fight well to mid-stretch. I thought he would rate, not send, but he broke well.

D'Funnybone gets the trip of trips.

If that doesn't work, his most recent sprint, the Spectacular Bid at GP, should do the trick.

To me, this horse is the classic speed horse that can't handle a sprint pace, which means the only way he can win is to hang on in a route race with a favorable pace scenario. Not sure what he's doing here, he should be in the prep races leading up to the Haskell.

Looked pretty good to me.

Yep. D'Funnybone only won by 4 lengths this time around.

The horse can't rate, which pretty much removes him from winning any top class sprint race.

I never said he wouldn't continue to be a bridesmaid, especially in a 5-horse field.

Maybe around Pennsylvania Derby time they'll come to their senses.

I saw the race on tape and I was thrilled with DM's performance, but also frustrated. This horse is not a speed demon, so either Javier felt like the colt would have resented being restrained today or he just gave a bad ride. He's a fast horse and should be tough in sprints from hereon out.

How's Alex Solis doing? He took off Tanda in the Acorn and went to the hospital with high blood pressure.

Are they really not going to show the Manhattan on ABC yet refuse to let Twinspires to carry it?!

This industry is so ****ed up.

I couldn't believe when I logged into TS.com when I saw that. Youbet ended up having the video.

Interesting. I thought Gio Ponti would take this and thought Just As Well was primed to have a good race today. Ah well.

rpncaine 06-05-2010 05:45 PM

Winchester/ Gio / Expansion / Tk the Points

ninetoone 06-05-2010 05:45 PM

what was the margin?

Left Bank 06-05-2010 05:48 PM

It appears that Gio Ponti has caught a bad case of seconditis.

Gov. patterson requested a jayZ rap song and the nyra obliged so raise the roof and eat some chicken and watermelon.

Are you frickin' kidding me? This is so anemic. Is it Karaoke Night at Belmont Park ? It's not like they got Jay Z and Alicia Keys to do it, although that would still suck. If I were Belmont I'd have told him to go jump, or played it earlier in the day and done New York, New York before the race like usual.

I think it's hilarious ABC cut it off and went to a commercial break. Here's the real deal, for those disappointed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqlJl1LfDP4

C'mon folks, no need to tear into each other. You're missing out on Kent Desormeaux jokes following the question by Ms Edwards: "Why was Mike Smith an important piece of the puzzle?" I kid, Kent.

Just noticed where Spangled Star finished. Poor Garrett. :o

Pretty good numbers for the dirt races IMO. Seemed like the track slowed down a bit later in the day.

It totally did Phil. The heat and steady wind baked the main and it got very deep and 'cakey'..

They mentioned on the ABC broadcast they were using 25% more water on the track than normal- and while the last two races were far from exceptional they weren't THAT bad... And obviously Bribon running a 107 is far from a reach. Looked like a great day out there, I was sad to miss it.

Travis Stone 06-06-2010 11:59 AM

Many thought the 3-year-old champion would surface on Saturday... perhaps it did in the 4th race. Trappe Shot was very impressive as one of just a few 3-year-olds to post a 100+ Beyer this year.

hockey2315 06-06-2010 01:01 PM

I hope he stays healthy, but I'm worried they might have wasted a good performance of his on that allowance when he could've gone in the Woody.

Havent heard anything on the status of Take Control, but I feel he has a chance to top this class if he ever gets back.

He hasn't worked since January 17...
