I can respect that and wouldn't attempt to convince you or anyone else that she is. I get the sense that it is not so much the horse but the Zenstapo as you call them. You would like for them to understand that she is only undefeated because of the relative quality of her opponents and not so much because of her raw talent. It's definitly a combination of the two and I for one don't believe that she would be undefeated today if she was ready to run her best race in this years Donn.
If and when the time comes that she is left with too much to do because her opponent(s) were simply faster than her it still won't take away from the legacy that she has left on the racetrack.

Not really, I actually agree with you that it's a combination of both. But they seem to think it's only because of the latter. I think she's got a lot of talent, but that's the unfortunate part of her campaigns to me, is that we may never know how much she truly has/had. And a big part of her schedule seems to be geared toward keeping her undefeated, which I'm not sure impartial fans care about, as opposed to proving her against the best/most diverse competition.

I really, really, don't wish to make this into another RA vs. Zen thread, because both have their shortcomings and all of the arguments have been exhausted. I'm simply saying why it's so disappointing to see Zen's connections run her at home in public workouts nine times out of ten. It's not because I think she sucks, but quite the opposite. I think she's good, and I want to see just how good.

Agreed. Lots of time left in the year. Here's to her health.

People on the west coast knocked her for not travelling, though obviously not on the Internet.

Unfortunately, as the Apple Blossom proved, it really doesnt matter where she runs, no one will show up to face her, unless she faces Rachel or Quality Road. The geography is not material facing fillies and mares.

All I know is RA could've made the BC; and didn't.

She was supposed to make the AB; and didn't.

No 'basic' reasoning class as part of your education?

She needed a rest after actually facing tests in racing. And synthetic was not in the cards.

"Facing tests"?????

More like facing bad to mediocre competition ALL season long

17-0 … horse racing immortality :tro:

slotdirt 04-22-2010 02:03 PM

There's this line about chickens and hatching, but I really can't remember what it was. I think Asmussen/Jackson know it well though.

You aren't even trying to be serious. Which is fine.

Indian Charlie 04-22-2010 05:05 PM

Which came first here?

Inbreeding or retardism?

prudery 04-22-2010 11:31 PM

Shiriffs indicates he is pointing for the Stephen Foster .

As per DRF today.

geeker2 04-22-2010 11:47 PM

None of us know where RA is going. I hope RA goes in the Foster though.

It is in Marty McGee's article about Churchill for Saturday's DRF. It's a little odd considering the very recent comments concerning her possibly running in the Vanity and that Marty does not include a quote.

You would think some quotes there would have been fitting.

As far as the original post indicated, it never stated Zenyatta was confirmed for the Vanity, what it does indicate is like any good owner/trainer's do is they are considering all their options which includes The Foster. We have enough flip & flopping around with the Rachel camp, that we don't need another repeat performance here again. My gut tells me there is still a good chance she will be at Churchill Downs so I am certainly not going to overreact and draw any conclusions before it is 100% certain she will run in the Vanity.

Neither do the connections, apparently.

Agreed.

How many times do people need to say the same thing?
