yeah, i hit some tabs and fooled around on the nbc site, and found that one. hope team usa does well, but that russian team will be tough-far tougher than slovakia! did you see that score?! 18-0 canada over slovakia, unbelievable. looks like a score from me and my son playing on ps3!

I currently live in Kentucky. This state is resplendent with mineral-rich grasses that grow exceptional Thoroughbred horses. People here have businesses that grow them, sell them, race them here.

So I think that I, as a resident of this state, deserve a portion of the profits these businesspeople make by using the resources of the state I live in :tro:

The point is a government seizing profit from a company to distribute to citizens. One may own the land, but they don't own the intelligence that figured out how to get oil out if it. That intelligence is the source of the profit.

BTW, there are plenty of horses grazing public land in this country, cattle & sheep, too. Look at a map of BLM-owned land sometime, you'd be shocked how much the government owns. Pretty amazing, what the government does for certain private citizens.

i know about blm owned land, and i believe ranchers pay for the right to graze there. far cry from the lush, private pastures of ky tho.
alaska isn't seizing the profit-the gas companies pay to get all that out of there, just like there are mineral rights paid to get stuff out from under ground here in arkansas and elsewhere.

There is no way to color this other than what it is: government theft. The government of Alaska, via law, is taking private company profits and distributing it to citizens.

Many Alaskans may want to suceed from our Union, but they sure don't mind getting free money from other people's intelligence and hard work.

why would they want to secede from the Union, and where the hell is my new house and car?.......it's over a year now!
