Lookin at Lucky might be a decent horse but beyond that nothing of note has shown much in the 2yo colt division in socal.

NoLuvForPletch 12-01-2009 09:02 AM

I LOVE Winslow Homer (the horse, not the painter). By Unbridled's Song out of a Summer Squall mare. November 20 race at Philly Park was just AWESOME. He went a mile with the utmost ease, and the added distance will only help. Larry Jones may have retired 1 year too early.

No love for Conveyance?

The fact that they lost to Tiny Woods at 5 1/2 furlongs first-time out is meaningless.

Both of the races that Sidney's Candy ran in were live races. Marcello came back and won an allowance race and then ran 2nd in a stakes race. Who's Up came back and won a stakes race. Indian Firewater came back and won. The Program came back and won. Those are just off the top of my head. I think there may have been another couple of winners that came out of those maiden races.

um I was not saying that, I was being serious, I like both of them

I could be wrong, but I dont think Jones has anything to do with this horse. I think its Tony Dutrow.

Is this the horse who won the off the turf race at Toga, he beat the Maker Ghostzapper who then came back to win on the turf, who has now turned into a pig.

Yes, he had a huge win at Philly a few weeks ago.

He beat a nwot alw, right?

I wouldn't expect a 2yo allowance race to ever be good.

What's impressive is the way he runs.

Where did you read he is going to the Futurity? Did you also read that Lookin at Lucky is also going there too? This would be surprising to me, as Baffert trains both of them and they both look like serious race horses. I really don't think Baffert would risk losing with Lucky in this spot.

NTamm1215 12-01-2009 12:10 PM

He rolled by over 12 lengths on an off track at Philly and got a 92 Beyer. He might be a decent horse. I'm interested to see where he surfaces, Fla, NY, or wherever else.

Can you/anyone post the PDF chart of the win? I liked this horse a lot that day at Toga.

Baffert has four CashCall candidates

The CashCall could have as many as four runners trained by Bob Baffert.

Baffert said Sunday that his candidates are the Breeders' Cup Juvenile runner-up Lookin at Lucky; Marcello, who was second in the Generous Stakes; Conveyance, the winner of an allowance race last Thursday; and Macias, who was fourth in the Grade 3 Hollywood Prevue Stakes on Nov. 19.

Lookin at Lucky will be favored in the CashCall Futurity, but Conveyance will attract attention after winning a six-furlong allowance race by seven lengths in 1:09. Conveyance earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 99.

"I think he's pretty fast," Baffert said. "He ran like he's worked."

I can only link to it:

Baffert had a first time starter on Sunday's last race at Hollywood Park that finished second by a nose called Quiet Invader.

Indian Charlie 12-01-2009 12:25 PM

thanks you two.

I would be surprised to see Baffert run Conveyance if LAL goes. As it is now, LAL is probably going to win the Eclipse, and the Futurity could easily be a make or break race for that.

Yes, the winner actually clipped heals at the 3/8 pole. That was pretty amazing that he still won. I hope he comes out of the race in one piece.

Hopefully not as bad as Fortissi More not getting up in Sunday's finale at Aqu. The result wasnt that close but it cost me a score.

What gives you those doubts?

He's relaxed and finishes strong, is a big strong long striding mofo and both his sire and broodmare sire could run long.

I'm more concerned about his durability. As per the norm for the great sire of this horse, the first two dams I believe were unraced.

Your telling me???? I had my pick 4 going having used Baffert two horses in there. Zillarator was all the buzz but Quiet Invader looked better on paper and on the track. Zayat horses suck!!

How much did you bet him to win??

He used eight Ds when spelling bad, so it must have been a lot of jingle.

I spent $120 on my pick 4 but it sounds like he may have spent more. however i believe I would have won more than him had Quiet Invader won but his would have been tax free. The pick 4 was to payout over 8k.

Exfusion for Hollendorfer broke from the 13 post and finished a good 3rd. He's the one I want next out.

Seeing how the winner previously had two modest efforts, I'm not sure that I'd want any of these in a tough field next time out.

I kinda agree with you here after viewing the replay again. I just dont like MSW races that have horses that finish too closely together as it tells me the races as such dont produce many next out winners. I could be wrong about Quiet Invader

Tiz Chrome has yet to run its first race?

richard 12-01-2009 11:30 PM

A monster! Suggesting that everyone keeps an eye on this one.

Indian Charlie 12-02-2009 02:45 AM

The trainer listed for Tiz Chrome is Alan Crupper. Never heard that name before.

He was an RNA as a yearling.

Nine thousand dollars RNA. For a Tiznow.

As in 9k.

He's got some nice Golden Eagle Farm blood on his damside too.

What makes you think this horse is a monster, and why do you say he's trained by Baffert?

I'll admit he looked a lot better than his 9k RNA, but he didn't look to me nearly as good as he did to you.

I bet 100$ to win on him earlier in the day, I was also singled to him in 1 pick 3 for 3$ and had him on another for 1$ with the Zayat. I get home from dropping my kids off at there moms house and there is 3mtp. He is 8-1, so I bet another 77$ to win on him that I had in my capital otb account. So win bets alone 177$... Plus live pick 3's that had decent prices in the first 2 legs.

I'd say that it's a good bet he's trained by Baffert since I stood in front of his stall at Santa Anita.

Diver67 12-02-2009 03:32 PM

Confirm, Baffert is listed as Tiz Chrome's trainer in the Santa Anita
"house" works. I don't know if he's been sold or what???
