I thought Pryor played for OSU.:zz:

dalakhani 09-12-2009 11:18 AM

The buckeyes getting 7 in the shoe? No one respects USC more than I do but I have to take those points.

1st year qb in the shoe and they have to give 7?

I LOATHE Notre Dame, but that was one hell of a play-action screen play. Reminded me of the '04 Patriots.

Parlay: USC -7.0/7.5 (today) with Carolina +2-1/2 (tomorrow)

Ohio State is still not fast enough to keep up with elite team such as USC...

Carolina is home dog on Opening Day and should win outright versus Beagles...

The Bid 09-12-2009 06:45 PM

Ohio State on the Money line, Browns tomorrow Money Line and the Indians on the Run line, there is your parlay

dylbert 09-12-2009 07:20 PM

Cha-ching... first turnover -- BUCKEYES! I thought USC linebacker was going to outrun entire OSU offense!

Guess ABC brought 1-1/2 replay cameras -- no down-the-line replay... Good call by refs.

TOUCHDOWN Trojans! :tro:

declansharbor 09-12-2009 07:31 PM

Take your anal beads made of cue balls out.

7-7!!!

dylbert 09-12-2009 08:01 PM

Jim "3-point" Tressel... :zz: no confidence in his offense to punch it in...

the field goal was the smart call in that situation. Defense playing well, short field and no proven short yardage back. Take the points, play defense and take the lead. Why would you go for it in that situation being tied 7-7 at home?

dylbert 09-12-2009 08:25 PM

It is always fun to second-guess Tressel... KSU having trouble in Cajunland?

At the time the SC offense couldn't do anything with the ball. They would have been pinned inside the 5 in the noisey end of the stadium. Show your team that you have some balls.

why though? Its not like you have beanie wells back there to get you the 1.5 yards (its not like it was inches to go). If they stop you there, momentum swings back the other way and it takes the crowd out of it.

Take the lead and win with d...especially at home.

Leaving the offense on the field, would have shown that you have confidence in them to get it done in a big spot. And if they didn't the defense is in a prime situation to make a big play and eventually get the ball back with good field condition. Plus the crowd would have been right back in it as soon as Barkley took the first snap of the drive from the 2 yard line. Especially should have done it, after Pete Caroll did it in the first quarter on the road.

In the first half tied 7-7? why risk it...especially with the distance to gain.

Carroll did it because he really didnt have anything to lose. They deferred possesioin and got it via turnover not a drive like in the OSU situation. Plus..he only had inches to go, not over a yard like OSU.

declansharbor 09-12-2009 09:21 PM

Kicking that field goal was undoubtedly the right call, esp. the way OSU's defense was/is flying around out there. Now, if it was a tad closer, I'd might be saying differently. In a game like this, you take the sure points.

dylbert 09-12-2009 09:31 PM

Herbstreit is such a homer! Just put game on mute...

ateamstupid 09-12-2009 09:42 PM

Is the Ohio State defense this good or is the SC offense that inept?

NTamm1215 09-12-2009 09:46 PM

I can't recall the last time USC looked so slow on offense.

If he was Jim "Touchdown" Tressel, THE Ohio State University would have been WINNER!

Compared to Matt Millen he is the Vin Scully of college football. Watching the ND/Mich game was close to unbearable. Why cant these networks realize that there are very good announcers out there and they dont need to recycle losers like Millen who was so obviously unprepared to do the game it was embarrassing. The game was a great game but Millen actually took away from my enjoyment of it. God he sucks. I'd rather be locked in a room listening to Tim McCarver and Joe Buck for 24 hours straight then listen to Millen for a quarter.

Trojans are 11-1 against-the-spread in their initial road games under Pete ... and 12-4 ats against Top 10 squads since '01.

Kid is no chump. If/when OSU tries to stuff the run ... which I highly doubt they'll be able to do consistently ... he'll burn them thru the air.

Pryor is good ... home crowd will help ... but I doubt OSU can outscore the Trojans.

SC - 31
OSU - 17

Make that 11-2 under Pete and 12-5 since '01....squeak...squeak...Tough Break Squeak....Yea you got to fetch the ball b1tch.

I hit the mute button more and more in my old age. I can't stand any of them. With the graphics they have now, you don't need announcers. The only thing the audio is needed for is to report on injuries.

I have Kenny Albert, Moose and Goose on mute as I type this. Goose adds nothing to a broadcast. Johnston just points out the obvious. Albert doesnt have a chance to talk with the other two. Three in the booth or two in the booth and one in the end zone doesn't work....in any sport. Too many voices trying to be heard.
