Get well Vic

eajinabi 07-12-2009 10:48 PM

Vic please get well and come back soon! That fill-in announcer for race 10 was brutal to listen to. Goes to show you that calling races is not that easy. ALso try to get Rosario on Globetrotter

letswastemoney 07-12-2009 10:58 PM

Who was calling the races today?

Ed Bogart for races 1 thru 9 and he did a good job but since he had to call races at Los Al a fill-in anouncer called the last race. I think its that guy who does all the Hollywood park promotions on TV. It was an ear-sore to listen to.

docicu3 07-12-2009 11:07 PM

Hopefully you'll be feeling better shortly Vic, try and delegate some of those things you do for Joel in the early AM for awhile until you hear your Doc's release you saying......."AND HE"S OFF....":D

I took a listen just out of curiosity. That was painful, he would call out a horse, wait a few seconds before saying anything else...then call another horse, and the process repeated through the whole race. One of the most boring calls I've ever heard.

Ya and the guy seems so peppy when he is on TV promoting events but not so much calling the races. Its all good cause I would have probably stumbled as bad as he did if I had to call it. The job is not that easy.

dellinger63 07-13-2009 09:05 AM

Hopefully 'real' minor is the case and thankfully he received immediate care.

Get well soon!

Know there's a Cicero IL Fireman who had a stroke and three months later he was back at work up on an 80ft. ladder. Hopefully you'll make the climb to the announcer's booth far sooner.

Pedigree Ann 07-13-2009 09:10 AM

Vic, we missed you Sunday and hope you'll be well enough to come back soon. I still remember your earthquake call when you said you loved us all; we all love you, too.

Not the same without you on the call Vic - take care of yourself and prayers for a speedy recovery.

A "ministroke" ? What the hell? Haven't had one of those since I was 13 and stole my dad's Playboy!

Seriously though. You'll all never know how much your kind words and well wishes have meant to myself and my family.

Tina has been copying and giving me all the messages from all the sites and believe me I could actually feel a positive physical reaction.

I'm feeling MUCH better. Freaky thing boy. The doctors say it's isolated and passed so I'm ready to roll on Thursday.

I'll tell you one thing for sure. It'll be nice to have just one job till the fall. I know I've obsessed way too much about trying to be leading rider with Joel.

We'll still work hard but by then I know I'll have learned to reconcile it better and take more time to just rest and relax with my family.

Again. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU so much for everything. Your kindness has been humbling.

Let's go get em Thursday!

Vic

jballscalls 07-14-2009 12:45 PM

Great news to hear you up and at em again!!

Immanuel Kant 07-14-2009 12:49 PM

Terrific to have you back!
