65 was very nicely bred excpt for the Secretariat cross. it's better to cross him with Sir Gaylord or one of his dam line.
|
all storm cats are wound tight...it's part of their charm i guess
|
68, 625k, 3 Mr Propsepctors...not my cup of tea.

72, Fupeg o/o g3sw and black type producer, the colt went for 145k and has nra written all over it unless his conformation is way off.

82, there's that Secretariat/Sir Gaylord cross...nice ped on this colt. $575k and my congrats to the buyers. my kinda ped.
|
85 a unique ped. I like it when they don't just breed to whatever is most fashionable...but really fit the mare to the stud. won't bring what he's worth because of it though.:(
|
what a steal $145k on 85...worth much more...beatiful ped with a strong Selene and Scapa Flow influence...this could be a real good one.

I like this colt (hip 90)... I wish the video streaming was better.
|
I agree about the video feed. it's a tough angle too, looking down from the balcony. but the pavillion isn't very big so maybe they had no choice.

oh yes, Sec is a great influence within a pedigree. But pedigree expert Ellen Parker advises to avoid a Secretariat inbreed. go with the Sir Gaylord cross or cross his dam line. she maintains you get a sounder horse this way, plus you have the racing influence of Secretariat. 82 is the example of how you can breed Secretariat within a pedigree.
i see they even doubled a Sir Gaylord in that one to give you 3 Somethingroyals. i think that works. Elusive Quality has the Sec/SG cross in his ped. Many good ones do regardless of sex. |

Those who are breeding to race have much more options and can be more observant of the dos and don'ts of soundnes etc. I really liked 85. |
sorry, i meant 82...and i edited my post...
but 85 is tremendous and a great buy if it flys. beautifully bred. |
Finally! Some pedigree discussion! I missed the sale while out on a date but I must say, looking over the results hip 4 Aldebaran-Appealing Kris and hip 56 Pulpit-Forever Rainbows went for lower than I thought.
Both those fillies are tremendous broodmare prospects and barring anything atrocious in the physical department we dont know about, just became very good buys. Appealing Kris hails from one of the most consistent families around, that of Judy Rae. Judy Rae is responsible for the whole Courtly Dee clan and she was also a half-sister to the granddam of Swaps among others. I should also note Appealing Kris was a very useful racemare and is now a stakes producer and being bred very well. Forever Rainbows has been an interesting mare to watch from a racing perspective. She's a Deputy Minister half to Winning Colors which makes Miss Carmie her 2nd dam. She's also had two stakes-quality colts win tough allowances at major tracks, such as Saratoga, and I would imagine its only a matter of time before she gets that major stakes winner that can make her daughters REAL valuable. |
I should also add that the Keenland Sept cat is now online. This is going to take me all night to go through. lol
