Now I could have sworn that Indian Blessing was going to ruin these, or words to that effect.

I hope it wasn't your money I took by laying the sh!t out of her. Easy money.

NoChanceToDance 03-28-2009 11:01 AM

Have the jocks not seen Gladiatorus run before?

If he gets an easy lead, he wins. Never eben thought about him getting that easy lead in a race like this.

brockguy 03-28-2009 11:01 AM

that was shocking, we all expect a cracking pace and he's let loose on the lead, race was over after 3 furlongs - Prevsis was unbelievable to come from where he did!!

My thoughts exactly, Brock.

Why on earth was he allowed such an easy lead? That was the most competitive race on the card (or so it looked) and he was allowed to hack over the line.

What were the jocks thinking? Surely they knew they had no chance if they went no pace?

Cannon Shell 03-28-2009 11:09 AM

I looked at this horse at the Fasig tipton sale in 06. Remembered him as a nice horse but talked myself off of him because his dam's produce record was so bad. Oops....

Only a complete tard like yourself could have watched the race and concluded that giving away 8/5 odds on her was easy money.

If she breaks with the field she wins by a space. Watch the trip she had on the overhead. There are much easier ways to make slightly over 50 cents on the dollar.

Yeah. I think that was the 1st crop of Silic. I looked at them because i figured no one else would be interested.

The Indomitable DrugS 03-28-2009 11:36 AM

While the mother might not have been a producer ... she was a half to Haafhd who blew away a field including horses like Azamour, Refuse to Bend, Norse Dancer, Doyen, and Lucky Story when he easily took a Group 1 at Newmarket in his final career start.

Haafhd was a top Euro 3yo in '04 ... so he was in the catalog when this horse sold.

Maybe I'm being too contrarian minded - but when you get down to prices that cheap in a time when the market's ok ... wouldn't you almost prefer they have abysmal pedigrees or dams with unproductive produce records?

Scurlogue Champ 03-28-2009 11:57 AM

I'm never betting this card again.

I would rather play darts.

I layed her at 5/4 on the English exchanges.

No, I probably wouldn't have layed her at 8/5, but 11/8 was far too short about a filly who seems to find the colts just a bit too good.

She had plenty of question marks about her for me, and I'm a big fan of Big City Man.

Horses without experience at Nad Al Sheba often get bad trips, and that was another thing against her.

Are you telling me that she was a play at between 5/4?

brockguy 03-28-2009 12:02 PM

Will Albertus Maximus stay 10f.?

Anyone concerned with de Kocks horses - none running well at all.. it would put me off Asiatic Boy!

Coach Pants 03-28-2009 12:07 PM

SNARF SNARF SNAAFY!!

ArlJim78 03-28-2009 12:08 PM

Snaafy to upset for me.

If this kid wins on Happy Boy that will be $16million in purses in 2 hours.

I think he'll get home over the trip, but I'm not really confident in saying that. However, it's a dreadful world cup.

I used to love Asiatic Boy, but he's nowhere near the horse he was in the last two years.

Cannot possibly have a bet in this.

Snaafy could possibly win it, but jeez, how bad will that look. The DWC being won by Snaafy. That just shows how bad the race is.

I'd like to see the longshot Joe Louis run well.

Sure he can win, but I wasn't too impressed by his Donn win. He should have won easier over Finallymadeit with the way the race set up for him, perhaps it was a stepping stone for today, but the American Hdcp division is nothing to write home about thus far in 09.

He's about the only rider in the country skilled enough to suck the life out of Fabulous Strike and get him to run a 65 pace figure going 7fs after a good break. Clever move by Baffert naming him.

thats what happens after 3 months of not racing and shipping halfway around the world. the winnner had recent races over the track and was almost 6-1, IB 1-1. the bet(big city man) was a no brainer.

I guess US tracks aren't the only ones that soup up the rail for big days.

The Indomitable DrugS 03-28-2009 12:36 PM

Yeah, the inside was pretty gold all day.

randallscott35 03-28-2009 12:37 PM

Happy for Gryder. Made his career today.

onebadbeast 03-28-2009 12:39 PM

Yeah, ok.

Look upon the history of the race ... the record of American horses who enter the race off of similar layoffs and after shipping is utterly spectacular.

To suggest that had something to do with her getting left at the gate is a stupid comment.

Travis Stone 03-28-2009 12:39 PM

With the way the track was playing and the lack of speed... 9/1 on Well Armed is sick. But, even sicker, are the prices underneath.

slotdirt 03-28-2009 12:40 PM

Good for Gryder. Always liked him.

I had Muller at 40-1 to be placed!!

Good to see an Irishman winning the big one!

So you would have played her at 5/4?

Anyway, well done to Well Armed. A brilliant display in a below average DWC, on his third last year he had every chance, especially as Asiatic Boy has shown he isn't the same horse this year.

A very nice display though.

She was 8/5 for and almost 9/5 against in the exchange. And yes, I did take some 8/5 on her as it was a gift...even with Prado.

I had flat money on the top 3
but no exact or trifecta

I admit the 13 horse was just a last minute post parade bet
and never even thought to bet a trifecta with all of them.

I didn't ask you if you'd play her at 8/5. I certainly wouldn't have layed her at that price, I asked if you would have played her at 5/4 (the price she was pre race over here).

For me, 5/4 was just ridiculous and I had to take her on with all of the question marks surrounding her.

I cannot imagine you would have made her a play that the odds we were getting?

SCUDSBROTHER 03-28-2009 12:55 PM

LOL...Seeing that guy with a golden whip is not a visual I could ever have prepared myself for. Seen it all now. What's next? A guy with a slit?
