If I were able to bet this race (not available on Xpressbet or Twinspires) I would box the 10,9,3,5 in a superfecta. I think the order will be 10,9,3 and 5 but don't have the confidence/skill to bet it straight.

Good luck to all - safe trip to the winner's circle Rampillion!

Cannon Shell 02-04-2009 09:40 AM

It is currently 7 degrees and sunny at TP. I have not gotten a confident feeling from racing officials that todays card will be run. As usual, no one knows anything.

atolunch 02-04-2009 10:18 AM

You can bet this on xpressbet. You just have to call in, can't do it online, at least that's what I have to do, being in PA. Must be different state by state with them.

Benny Leger 02-04-2009 10:19 AM

I just talked to the racing office at about 10:15 am and was informed that live racing for the day is a go !!! See y'all there !!!

sumitas 02-04-2009 10:20 AM

The clods will work out of the track as it warms up . We hope .

Okay, I was just about to call them - but I'm checking to see how many accidents are still blocking I-75 before I leave the house. It's pretty nasty here north of Lexington

Riot 02-04-2009 10:56 AM

Sorry, Benny, I won't be there:

Be careful to all DT'ers going to Turfway. Gamble at your OTB or favorite wagering site. Don't gamble with non driving individuals on dangerous slick roadways.:zz:

Turfway is not available by phone in MA. However, since I am hard at work, I just opened up a TVG account so Rampillion can have the added weight of my bet, also.

BTW the 7 scratched

Benny Leger 02-04-2009 11:49 AM

Sorry you can't make it Beth...I know the feeling....Yesterday I drove from Batavia, New York to within 25 miles of my home in 8 hours....Last 25 miles...2 hours and 45 mins....Go figure. Good luck to Pills and DR. Get home safe !!!

Riot 02-04-2009 11:59 AM

MaTH716 02-04-2009 02:04 PM

Wow, 4/5 on her with 2 minutes to post.

BillW 02-04-2009 02:05 PM

Mr. B on TVG doesn't like her ... VERY positive sign!

Riot 02-04-2009 02:08 PM

4-3-6- 5 we were out of the money.

NoCarolinaTony 02-04-2009 02:08 PM

She never moved forward after she hit the top of the stretch.

NC Tony

Payson Dave 02-04-2009 02:09 PM

well back

Riot 02-04-2009 02:09 PM

The 3 took off and opened up, we were laying 5th out of the chute, moved up on the backstretch to 4-3rd, 3 kept out there, opened up eight lengths, Rampillion and the 8 made good moves as the 2nd and 3rd place horses heading into the turn and through the turn (still about 5-6 off the 3) and she was 3rd top of the stretch with the 8, but the 3 held on until nipped by the 4 at the wire.

MaTH716 02-04-2009 02:10 PM

Sorry Guys, for those who didn't see it, she finished off the board.

She was huffing at that point. Tired. The weather has been so bad for 2 months, as far as training goes.

MaTH716 02-04-2009 02:14 PM

Anyone know if she was claimed?

Well, the Turfway horses have gotten in alot more work than the CD Training horses (who are trotting in barns) I don't know who was based where out of that race.

pointman 02-04-2009 02:23 PM

she quit pretty bad, hope she didn't bleed

SniperSB23 02-04-2009 02:31 PM

Let's hope the every other race pattern keeps up next race.

Turfway has had worse weather then Churchill recently, few days of racing cancelled at Turfway last week, not a vaild excuse

MaTH716 02-04-2009 02:34 PM

Tim..CDT has not had a work or the track open since 1/25..Turfway has had workouts on 1/25,26,29,30,and 1-4.....Not saying it affected Rampillion, but to say horses stabled at the two tracks have had equal training opportunities isn't true.

pweizer 02-04-2009 02:48 PM

The "tracked four wide" part didn't help any.

Heard from Chuck after the race. The lost days of training were always a concern. He had hoped that the workout on the 25th would be enough of a tightener to make up for the lost training time, but she was clearly short. Was disappointing, but she came out fine other than being tired. More later when he gets back to Louisville...

Riot 02-04-2009 03:30 PM

Hey, well good news she's still ours and came out fine - so that counts as a work and on to the next! Thanks for the update.

ddthetide 02-04-2009 04:43 PM

i just talked to Heels, he said the wind chill is below 0* and the cold is nasty.:wf
