the second one, obviously! I've already stated that his Presidency didn't go well....you could look it up, but I'm not going to belabor it. 2 and a half months til WonderBoy assumes his throne.

She is open minded, cool headed and independant.... she took a lot of **** from the liberals on this site also the past couple months.

But it is hard to defend Bush. The only thing I give him credit for is there not being a terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01. And that is huge IMO..

I do not blame him for the current financial crisis... and if he is going to get blamed for that the Democratic Congress needs to be blamed as well. I do not think Bush is as bad as everyone makes him out to be... but he didnt do a good job and he made a fool of himself every time he spoke.

arghhhhhhhhh!

the whole election locally ticked me off.

they wanted a rule that only married couples could adopt or have foster kids. no 'cohabitating' couples. they said from the get go that their main target was homosexuals-they passed ( i say 'they' because i sure didn't vote for it!) a constitutional amendment here a few years ago on marriage only being one man, one woman. so, since homosexuals can't marry here, they cannot adopt or be foster parents.
i had an issue with that--for example, if two women are raising a child as theirs, what if the legal mother passes away? the second mother has no rights for that child at all. how would that affect her and her child? i can't imagine. also, only one mother could be the legal parent, as now the other has no recourse for adoption. what if they were to end their relationship? what recourse would the second parent have for visitation?
and what about the fact that there already are far more foster kids than foster parents? how does this help?

i told my husband that all those who voted for this crap, who say they want what's best for kids....well, what about all the folks down here (and it happens a ton here, it's insane) who run around on their spouse, marry and divorce multiple times, etc? and they care about childrens well-being? when? you'd have to be here and see what goes on to believe it. i liken these towns around her to peyton place. only worse.

we moved here about 14 years ago. it has it's good points, and it's bad-which is much like everywhere i'd imagine.

oh, did i mention that i live in a dry county?

i sometimes call it the land that time forgot. tony and i pretty much keep to ourselves! people think we're heathens, since we don't go to church. there are over 100 in this area, it's hilarious.

i think there are so many so that those remarrying can avoid all the ex-spouses church. only nevada outdoes arkansas in divorce rate.

Antitrust32 11-05-2008 04:47 PM

Its crazy that people these days feel this way...

Really sucks for the gay people of arkansas... eventhough how it sounds.. if you're gay you just get the fucl< outta dodge!

scuds says im a conservative because i exercise my rights under the second amendment to the constitution. i'm also not an advocate of large federal govt, which in his eyes means i'm anti-welfare.
i just happen to think that most programs should be handled by states, and that the federal govt has gotten far too big. but states like it that way, as the federal govt for most is very far away, and easy to call the bad guy, while local and state govt is only minutes or hours away. i also don't want universal health care, which he and others have blasted me for.
i doubt tho that scuds is on the sidelines, he'll be around.

Scuds tends to "pigeon-hole" people when he thinks he has them figured out!

It's just that I am letting the Conservative White Males vent some. I actually think some of our White Trash is gunna try very hard to kill OBA. So, you should consider sharpening your knives for JOE. Zig is a Conservative on most issues, but not on Social Issues. She has positions that are pretty close to a typical Gay Republican (Log Cabin Republican.) That's the only way I have been able to define her selection of positions. I see her as a type of Conservative. She doesn't see herself that way, because she puts emphasis on the social issue disagreements she has with other Conservatives. Her other beliefs are very Conservative. That's why she is getting along with the Gay Republican Gal. That's exactly who she should be getting along with. She isn't gunna be loyal to a party, because she has too many issues in disagreement with parties. I believe one's economic ideas about society are the most important. That's why I don't see her as a DEM OR INDY. She's not in the middle on stuff. She's either very Conservative or very Liberal(Social issues.) She's not an INDY.

Ok, so what are my political positions? I don't even know myself how to classify it.
