That's akin to John McCain suggesting he meant to appoint Michael Palin....not Sarah.

This entire thread is a layup drill.

paisjpq 10-15-2008 09:30 PM

like putting quarters in the slow pitch batting cage.

GPK 10-15-2008 09:31 PM

Kudos to Thebby for singlehandedly turning this into a Thread of the Year Nomination.

dean smith 10-15-2008 09:36 PM

I should play around on this site more often. I feel like I'm missing a lot of inside stuff. Is this what you guys do all night? Sit around, bag on one another, and talk pop culture and horses? What a magical world you've created...

That's not sarcasm, either. There's a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.

Byk deserves all the credit.

The supposedly clever responses could have been made in one's sleep. It was the prior idiocy that wove the quilt of stupidity that elevated this thread above the usual drivel.

paisjpq 10-15-2008 09:43 PM

I would like to add, that I am content to be Andy's wingman

And suddenly the bar has been raised even lower.

Feigned.

Been a long day. I listened to more useless drivel today about new golf clubs hitting the market, than I care to hear for the next 5 years. My brain is clearly in shut down mode.

dylbert 10-15-2008 09:55 PM

Now, back to the ATR Soundtrack discussion...

It's American Bandstand with Dick Clark featuring Rate-A-Record. Just rate these two records from 35 to 98:

Duane Eddy, "Rebel Rouser" and Parliment/Funkadelic, "One Nation Under a Groove"

And for those don't know it -- Ryan Seacrest ain't no Dick Clark!

Steve,

You and I share similar libraries of music tastes. I know you and I have talked about Noah and the Whale ota one time when I called.

You also have played "Clean" by Depeche Mode - used on USA's "The Cleaner" now too....Of course, "Precious" is good too.

You might want to check out a song by the "The Last Shadow Puppets" called, "The Age of the Understatement".

I'm going to start cutting my arm.

Coach Pants 10-16-2008 12:27 AM

Steve you should consider this song as the intro and/or outro.

To help Steve, here's an old quote my Latin teacher taught us:

"De gustibo non disputabant est."

Translated: "It is not possible to argue about taste."

And, having grown up in Jersey, I'd like to see some Van Halen or Bon Jovi in that list.

Here's one you might like from 'The Cult': "American Horse" ? Title seems appropriate...

joeydb 10-17-2008 07:13 AM

American Horse

By the Cult, off "Sonic Temple": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oW_XK6C-jk

I listen and watch Glenn's show in the mornings and heard my suggestion [above] just a short while ago.

I wonder if Glenn Beck - from the Glenn Beck Program - checks out derbytrail.com?

I think this could be a new one for the show. I don't think I've heard it on there before.

Props to Casey, and or Steve for playing a bit of "The Wrestler" by Bruce Springsteen, great song! Has already won a Golden Globe Award, and could win Bruce an Oscar!

Steve, I was wondering what the "bumper music" was that you played Monday (3/23) after the mid-break during the segment with Doug (around 5:45). It was a "catchy" instrumental with a good beat. Heard it a few times recently.

joeydb 04-30-2009 09:50 AM

Loaded

Steve,

I love that intro where the Peter Fonda quote is dubbed in. "We want to get loaded!"

Cracks me up every time I hear it.
