There's that arrogant, condescending tone I've come to expect from you Michelle! Thank you for not disappointing me.:tro: |
given that george bush recently authorized the use of u.s. troops in pakistan without prior approval of the pakistani government this whole debate is laughable.
we raided the country with ground troops september 5th. anyone who reads knows this. obama haters ought to be quietly avoiding the debate, not bringing it up as an example of poor leadership. supporters should embrace his prescience. i love when tards argue but enough is enough. |

of course he meant the terrorists, but when he said THIS about a country we refer to as an ally in the war on terror, a fragile complicated country with nuclear weapons, he exposed himself as totally incompetent and dangerous; (CBS/AP) Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Wednesday that he would send troops into Pakistan to hunt down terrorists even without local permission if warranted — an attempt to show strength when his chief rival has described his foreign policy skills as naive. The Illinois senator warned Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf that he must do more to shut down terrorist operations in his country and evict foreign fighters under an Obama presidency, or Pakistan will risk a U.S. troop invasion and losing hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. military aid. "Let me make this clear," Obama said in a speech at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. "There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again. It was a terrible mistake to fail to act when we had a chance to take out an al Qaeda leadership meeting in 2005. If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will." he was roundly critized for this even from his own party. you simply do not throw down ultimatums like that. this is the type of situation that calls for discreet covert action, and not John Wayne style statements whose only goal is to prove you're not a wimp. which is why i told you earlier that Palin did exactly the right thing when Gibson kept pressing her on whether or not she is for going in to northern Pakistan, she kept her mouth closed and said nothing but that all options are open. that is the only correct answer. If the US has contigency plans to chase terrorists into pakistan, trust me we don't tell that to Charlie Gibson of abcnews. |
ArlJim is such a feminist.

You make Sarah Palin look like Marilyn Vos Savant If Obama is "incompetent and dangerous" what does that make Bush for not threatening but actually SENDING THE TROOPS in? |
Quote:
we have no doubt been doing raids into Pakistan when we needed to all along, only now I believe the efforts have been stepped up, but its not something you can talk about openly as a matter of policy. |

its was an anonymous non governmental source, that means it is not official US policy. do i believe its true? could very well be, frankly i would hope so. the only reason we started down this path was to contrast the lightweight wannabe general Obama spouting off about chasing terrorists into Pakistan with or without their approval, with the quiet covert actions that take place all the time, that George Bush has not and will not say anything about, and with the poise that Palin showed the other day by not taking the bait from Charlie Gibson. |

If the actions were quiet and covert, why were they reported on every news service in the ENTIRE WORLD? Stop trying to spin out of it. You were wrong so shut up. |

i will give you a clue though, November 4th, 2008. talk amongst yourselves. :wf |

ok, googled 'bush pakistan raids'. got a list of different articles, essentially with the same title. read one, and it said the NYT broke the story, so i clicked on the one from them. here's the link, which cites multiple, but unnamed, government officials as sources.

I hate to say this but I wish FDR were alive today , he would just send a couple a planes over and nuke the whole sand flea ridden , terrorist making , rag head wearing , Ive got nothing better to do with my life but cause misery Middle east countries and be done with the whole she-bang.
The people in those countries hate us and always have , they wish nothing but death and destruction for all of us because they have no future and no hope because their leaders provide them with nothing. If Teddy Roosevelt were alive he would invade all those countries because he believed in taking democracy to the world and that included invading other countries that havent attacked us. People think this war is about oil and WMD , but its not , its about establishing democracy in a place that gives their people no hope, no future , no rights but they are so subjegated by their religous leaders that killing the "Invaders" is the only glimmer they can give them in their pathetic lives. |

i live in the real world. not one where we are a unipolar power with more military force than has ever been seen in human history and can impose our beliefs on other societies. not one where every conflict is seen through a prism of good vs. evil. there are other national interests in conflict with ours. we need to have a mature understanding of the real world if we want to make decisions that are in our national interest. yahoo's imagining they can swing their big dick's in everyones face is what got us where we are today. usa! usa! usa! i miss henry kissinger. |
