just has always been my opinion that mdo could never seal the deal on a big day, which is why i don't consider him top ten in this decade-but i would probably put him in the top ten for that crop. :p

Afleet Alex is the horse on the list we didn't get to see enough of. if you really think about his races. wins the sanford, hopeful and arkansas derby. once clear in the derby, he is a Fast closing and very close 3rd. goes to his knees at the head of the stretch and still wins the preakness by 4-5. crushes the field in the belmont by 7-8.

Here's one that many forgot that should be on every shortlist:

High Chaparral winner of three gr.1's as a 3yr old
Epsom Derby (2002)
Irish Derby Stakes (2002)
Breeders' Cup Turf (2002)

Overall record 13-10-1-2
Never out of the money in his career at the highest level of competition and six time a group 1 winner including 2 BC's.

Kitten's Joy should probably be on the list as well

If we start to include Euros, the list would never end. Or did you just mean three year old euros with a US start?

I think for this forum, a horse would atleast have to have 1 North American start. That was what I was thinking when I named him. He could even have received a vote from me in the Alltime great list thread.
