Would have been 16 but I couldn't sell my car in time.

Obviously I have no idea what the deal with the horse, but his Thorograph sheet was very good, and had the pedigree to do almost anything. It is very curious for the drop but I think could have been worth the risk for 25k....time will tell

They lost 400k on that horse(500k + training costs/ - about 85k earnings n' 25k received for claim.) Just shows ya how much money some people have to piss away. Hard to believe taxes on the rich are too high when these people can afford to throw money away (like it's a hamburger wrapper.)

The drop was so strange I am sure it scared a lot of people off. You could get Lava Man or you could get a horse that will never run again.

Scav 06-26-2008 04:58 PM

I would almost guarantee that you will see that horse in for 50 next out, unless something is wrong, and what races are carded...

I also like trying to figure out what the plan is for the new connections, if he was even claimed, I haven't been able to look yet.....

SCUDSBROTHER 06-26-2008 05:00 PM

Baffert hates to put up with paying workman's comp. So, he wants to get rid of anything that can't win stakes races. He dropped horses like this at Del Mar 3 or 4 years ago. They were o.k., he just didn't want to mess with them. He is above this.

tiggerv 06-26-2008 05:02 PM

If Mitchell or Mullins gets him then he will be in stakes races next out.

tiggerv 06-26-2008 05:11 PM

Doug O'neill got Informed

I think there's something to this theory. He has plenty of horses, doesn't want to waste his time with mediocre stock.

My random thought of the day: the TVG "mystery leg" is the gayest thing on TV right now.

Rootdog1 06-26-2008 05:24 PM

need some input...

I am using 3,6,9 and deciding between the 1 and 8.......any votes? (also, I used the 8 in my pk6)

Beverly Lewis owned the horse so I'm sure the drop had to be OK's by the Lewis'. It seems like Baffert hates a lot of thing about racing in California these days. If he were a younger man he'd probably leave So.Cal.

Rootdog1 06-26-2008 05:42 PM

SCUDSBROTHER 06-26-2008 05:49 PM

OMG, I need Agapito for a $162 double in the 6th. I have to beat Flores n' Bejarano with Agapito. :zz:

pick4 06-26-2008 06:02 PM

Your horse Afternoon Gold is a good fit in 32/28 maiden claimers. I have the droppers in my wagers but I would not be surprised to see Afternoon Gold close to win. I put AG in a pick three with 2,5/ 3,6,11.

Scav 06-26-2008 06:07 PM

whoa

SCUDSBROTHER 06-26-2008 06:08 PM

God damn it. Track is slow...rate u dummies

SCUDSBROTHER 06-26-2008 06:09 PM

Henry Moreno n' Van Burg..........Old fkn fossil day.

Scav 06-26-2008 06:10 PM

I have to say, it is VERY possible that no one had that horse....I can't believe that

pick4 06-26-2008 06:11 PM

MISTERGEE 06-26-2008 06:13 PM

SCUDSBROTHER 06-26-2008 06:23 PM

Bigsmc 06-26-2008 06:26 PM

I bet you someone is alive, but it is a very large ticket, that is very skinny in the last couple, and they probably had to single the 1st leg, and probably all in that leg....

Scav 06-26-2008 06:31 PM

Shows you how stupid Schrup is, only 1 person can 'sign' for a tax ticket, 1 SSN/1 signature, and you have to fill out another form for a group ticket....

MISTERGEE 06-26-2008 06:36 PM

wonder when the last time moreno won a race, he was 0-40 with maiden claimers, and 0-38 in sprints

Scav 06-26-2008 06:43 PM

You gotta love California

Only carries to the 1,7

Surprised @ the 7... Looks very viable.

Decarchy is the lone positive. I think Stein may hold out for a minimum of 20-1 before he wants to fire. Just 11-1 today.
