If I can get Vitruvius to run like he did at Aqu in April of last year you will be running for the silver and bronze. I like the 5 in the 4th,

Locked and Loaded on Strike a Deal in the Manhattan....and ling ling Qi in the Woody

They work fast when they work at Belmont. Did you see the 52 and change work going in for Abraaj? Another is correct, Stream does work consistently well. Outside post shouldn't be any problem at all. I think he breaks through.

Bulllea,

Corrected! Thanks very much for the heads up.. G/L today!

blackthroatedwind 06-07-2008 06:30 AM

I wish I could book every cent on Vitruvius.

Haven't people gotten tired of losing money on this horse yet?

The 140th running of the Belmont Stakes

with Casino Drive scratched :( I guess I'll be rooting for history....

BIG BROWN (#1)
This unbeaten, untied upon equine monster is looking to become the 12th Triple Crown winner in history; totally brilliant in both the Kentucky Derby & Preakness Stakes, he has overcome foot issues the last three weeks since then; gets the call now the Casino Drive is out.

READY’S ECHO (#9)
Not often that you see this combination with a morning line odds of 30-1; void of early speed, this “Silky Sullivan” like runner comes far off the pace & will be flying late in the stretch, the “value play” in this race.

TALE OF EKATI (#7)
No factor 4th in the Kentucky Derby, this Barclay Tagg trainee is two for two over the Belmont strip; breeding wise, he doesn’t look like he wants the distance on paper; But figures in the exotics with his “back” class.

DENIS OF CORK (#4)
Rallied from dead last in the Kentucky to be a no factor 3rd with a up the rail trip; gets jockey switch today from Calvin Borel to Robbie Albarado & the five week break between races; could set a good trip stalking behind the leaders.

zippyneedsawin 06-07-2008 08:56 AM

I'm not going to try to beat Indian Blessing or Big Brown today.. both will roll (says the guy talking about an even odds and 2/5 horse in their respective races  )

I like Lady of Venice a lot in the Just a Game. I do think Benny the Bull and Ready's Image are beatable favorites today. As for the Manhattan... good luck!

lemoncrush 06-07-2008 12:04 PM

Indian Blessing

I realize this is capt. obvious, but the in my opinion, that absolute lock of the day is indian blessing.
She lays over these on class (beat proud spell twice), has a nice workout pattern for her return, and the 1-turn mile at Belmont should be exactly what she wants. A short field helps avoid any sort of troubled trip, and the ny bred shouldn't bother her much on the front end.
I'm singling her in all pick 4 and pick 3 plays today.

Good luck.

hoovesupsideyourhead 06-07-2008 01:25 PM

nice call byk...endless c..:D

I needed one more time. Now I'm officially tired of losing money on him.

6: 7 = 3.00
7: 1,3,4,5 = 4 = $21.20
8: 2 = OUT
9: 2,4,5,6,8 = 5 = 7.20
10: 5,6,7,9,10 = 10 = 10.40
11: 1

$200

Played this ticket with a friend, hoping to change recent luck by posting ticket :)

jms62 06-07-2008 04:24 PM

Can anyone explain the rationale behind the 10th not having a Super ?

Mike 06-07-2008 04:57 PM

I've had a lousy day thus far, and go tepidly into the big race, I'll hop on board the Big Brown wagon, tri keying him over Denis of Cork,Ready's Echo and Icabad Crane

Scav 06-07-2008 05:21 PM

Anak Nakal looked really really good on the track, did not like how Tale of Ekati looked

BB also looked amazing

I have Anak Nakal keyed in almost everything I played. Probably a big mistake but I think he has a good chance to hit this board and run better than his odds.

Scav 06-07-2008 05:52 PM

I tell you, today is just the reason why, I don't even know how to describe it.

May 3rd I unloaded on Ventura and played against Big Brown every possible way, and then today, Ventura wins easy (granted getting an easy trip) and Big Brown has an off day.....blah blah....

You get knocked down,
but you get up again.

They're never gonna keep you down...

and all that rot.

I did, but the idiotic thing is the only other horse I used was the third finisher, at 40:1, and I didn't bet tris.

My fault.

hockey2315 06-07-2008 11:35 PM

I really screwed that race up. Played tris 5,10 w/ 4,5,10 with several horses including the 2.

blackthroatedwind 06-07-2008 11:57 PM

Betting horses like Vitruvious is dangerous to your bankroll.

You can't say I didn't warn you.

hockey2315 06-07-2008 11:58 PM

You did. . . and I scaled back accordingly.

blackthroatedwind 06-08-2008 12:04 AM

Vitruvious is a horse that people pick because two years ago they thought he was going to be very good.

There is a serious reason he has made three starts in two years. These kinds of horses almost never win and never justify their odds.

On an unrelated note.....there was a party for Casino Drive at Nobu tonight, where coincidentally I happened to be eating ( along with A Rod....who is one big dude up close ). You would have laughed to see me talking to some of the people who were there....that spoke no English.

Baseball been bery bery good to them!!

hockey2315 06-08-2008 12:10 AM

The funny thing is that I've always been anti-Vitruvius. The only horse I really loved all day was Zaftig and didn't make a dime on her. Just singled her in the PK4.

Nobu on a Saturday night? What a life. . .

blackthroatedwind 06-08-2008 12:12 AM

Same with me. I singled her in the Pick-4....and didn't have another winner on the ticket.

She's a very nice horse. The Mother Goose could be a scorcher.

It was probably funnier seeing you hold back a smile/your opinion when Siegal picked Stalingrad. The smirk was priceless

blackthroatedwind 06-08-2008 12:45 AM

Not at all.

He has a great opinion. Who am I to laugh at his picks? I pick plenty of losers and bad horses.

Plus, it's not like he follows NY like I do. I'm sure if I showed up at Del Mar I would pick plenty of bad horses that he would know were bad bets.

I am not dissing him per say, while he is new to me since I have only had HRTV for one full month, his handicapping and reasoning are solid, and I have learned from him already. Maybe I manufacturered the smirk in my mind knowing what you thought about Stalingrad and then hearing him pick the horse.

blackthroatedwind 06-08-2008 12:58 AM

I'm used to people I do shows with picking horses I hate. I'm also used to seeing them be right.

I had forgotten he picked him until you mentioned it.

I did hate Stalingrad....but I hated Dancing Forever as well.

blackthroatedwind 06-08-2008 12:59 AM

It's " per se. "
