Also waiting for news on Garrett Gomez, who went down hard in the race before.
|
Quote:
"Ron Anderson, Gomez's agent, told Santa Anita officials late Saturday afternoon that Gomez lost several teeth, suffered a gash on his left knee and had a swollen hand. The jockey was undergoing precautionary X-rays, Anderson told track officials." -bt- |
Indyanne fractured one sesamoid on the left front and did not suffer seveer support system damage ...
Though they did not say, it seemed the fracture was closed, and the prognosis is 65/35 to have a successful recovery and career as a broodmare ... She will have surgery in the next few days ... |
Quote:
Thanks for the hopeful update on Indyanne, Prudery. Wishing for the best. Any info on Back at You, just says vanned off and responsible for his own trouble? |
Quote:
they said the horse got up own his own, and walked off (according to announcer) the horse jumped the rail right before he was headed by the winner coming down the stretch, surprisingly only a 1 horse spill -bt- |
Quote:
Turns out he was tranqued to get Gomez out from under him safely ,,, Once the stuff wore off, it was said he trotted into the van with superficial cuts ... No further news ... |

and Silver Nat as well. This is so unusual at the Fairgrounds, obviously we have a few tragedies every year but this many in such a short time is highly unusual, coupled with the quarantine it's like a dark cloud is hanging over Gentilly.....:( |
Yeah, just saw that. Poor guys.

Dimestore Dolly after winning the 6th today at Tampa, something went wrong. Don't think I've ever seen a horse run on three legs like that. Hope she's OK.

I was OTB in Port Allen just in time to see that debacle at PENN.....not what I wanted to see.....I can say that there really wasnt a big delay on the track afterwards so that may have boded well or as well as could be under the circumstances.

Smoocher, R8 at Turf Paradise today...
|
Quote:
Don't anyone tell me if Nopie dies, he just got shipped from the Sherman barn at GGF to Turf Paradise... he was my favorite horse in Steve's barn (sshhhh, don't tell anyone but I liked Nopie better than my own horse  ). Nopie was like a big puppy dog, he loves being scratched and would look longingly at you when you walked away from his stall...he's the only horse I ever saw that looked at the camera in the winners circle photos... I love that about him :{>: |
Wood Winner. Just read the chart from Sunday, saw he was vanned off. I haven't been able to find out anything, so if someone hears.....He's a personal fave. Want to make sure he has a good home if his racing days are over.

Still waiting to hear about Smoocher and I'm sorry if i gave anyone the wrong idea that he was gone. I have no idea and no one to contact but his being here and not on the angels thread gives some hope, right? Okay I just needed to clarify that and hope that we hear good news about him. * * * Where was Wood Winner's race? I'll look around. There's a horse i like, I'll Prey for You. Not in my stable mail but apparently something went wrong for him and any word is appreciated. |

Good news on Smoocher though! I finally heard back from the track.... "Smoocher will no longer be racing but is alive and well at a retirement home for horses." :) |
Quote:
YES! Thank you for that update, I wonder which "retirement home"? It would be nice to know so a donation can be sent to help him... |

Definitely hope the horse makes it as she was a hard knocker with all the starts she made in a short time frame. |

Spenditallbaby, who suffered two fractured sesamoids early in the Sunshine Millions Distaff on Jan. 24, continues to hold her own following surgery a week ago Friday. “So far, so good,” said trainer Barry Abrams, who has the daughter of Unusual Heat at his Santa Anita barn . |
Unusual Heat has a Facebook page?
