I'm talking more about successful riders making the "in/out" move on the grass (and if the rail/hedge opens up, so much the better), so in that sense I agree that "gluing yourself" to the fence is "very dangerous." However, in the often paceless turf events that we see in NY, there's nothing worse than being 3-4 wide while up against a slow pace.

Haha he's definitely one of the ones. . . 2-1 sounds about right. I was pretty high on Gio Ponti last year so I might have to play him. Probably just use both in the PK4 and play GP to win if the price is right.

Why don't you like him? Because your derby horse Prussian is in here?

I just want to know where you're getting your weed from, because I'm all out and could use some. How you can look at the PP's and like Writingonthewall, a horse that was run down 4 days ago by Typhoon Tycoon, in an open stake might be one of the funniest things you've said on here. I didn't think you could top the Court Vision-Cowboy Cal Derby exacta. Congrats!!

You are actually PMing this guy winners? I feel slighted

Nistle's Crunch ran again since Churchill Derby weekend? I need to get that horse in my watch list....

For what it's worth, I think Gio Ponti is the only horse that can even touch Hatta Fort in here. It's encouraging to see Clement bring him back in a stakes race as he is often a bit more conservative, especially with a horse who is eligible for a N2X. He had a brutal trip in the BC Juvy Turf, which is not a revelation at all.

Prussian has been exposed for two of the most unbelievable trips of 2007 in his first two starts. He had no excuse last time out and was run down by a decent horse, but not anything close to what he will face here. It's also about 1000 times easier to wire the Monmouth lawn than it is the Widener. I'd need a much better price than you're going to get to get excited about this guy.

This is a two horse race in my opinion and I certainly think Gio Ponti is capable of winning off the bench.

Oh, don't get me wrong, Prussian has a chance, he is just one of those horses who started his career in such a fashion that he became a public darling that gets pounded in the betting every time he runs.

Whatever his odds? Winner.

Another stellar pick.....

Kind of a strange ride. . . moved way too soon but it looked like he may have been rank. . . wasn't beating the winner, though.
