When they beat Texas A&M in that ridiculous 5 OT game near the end of January they improved their overall record to 16-2. Since then they have been 5-8 which includes a loss to a pretty pathetic Colorado team in the Big 12 tournament.
In addition, Jerrells simply hasn't looked like himself in the last five game.

I know the Big 10 isn't particularly strong this year, but Purdue seems to be significantly better now than they were at the begining of the year, while the opposite holds true for the Bears.

This is right on.

I know this is a redboard, sorry(been gone), but Baylor had
absolutely no business in this tourney. I really was
shocked they put Baylor in. ATM will go down as soon
as they play a team that puts pressure on their guards...
they have none. BYU did not do a good job at this.

Purdue and Wisconsin are extraordinarily well coached,
patient teams without huge talent. They can beat
anyone, but just dont have the talent needed to win
6 games.

Kansas is clearly the best team in the Big 12. Year
after year they disappoint, but they are the most
talented. Texas has one of the best PG'sin the nation,
but they play so helter-skelter and lack an enforcing
big man... Cant see them winning 6 either. A team
that can (and has beat) any team in the nation, but not 6
games in this tourney.
Kansas State just manhandled USC under the boards.
What is obvious is the Big 12 is a very physical conf.
Kansas State has the ATM problem, lack of discipline
and playmaking at guard.

If Blake Griffin can go full strength for Oklahoma,
the Big12 will be 4-1 after the 1st round. Considering
Baylor should not have been... not bad.

whodey17 03-20-2008 11:23 PM

Miss Valley State 29 pts. that is unreal. this is whats bad about the tourney.

horseofcourse 03-21-2008 08:14 AM

But Belmont nearly putting Duke out of it's misery is what is so good about it.

horseofcourse 03-21-2008 01:39 PM

Now today is fun so far. When you look up the word "pure" in the dictionary if there isn't a picture of Stephen Curry there something is wrong. Gonzaga/Davidon launch 48 threes and Drake/W Ky currently have launched 57 threes. Now that is what I call "madness"!! Even American made Tennessee work a bit.

Del Curry was as pure a shooter as you get in the NBA.
I think dad is smart enough to keep his kid in school.
His son is so slight right now.

Davidson is out next round though.

Now this Drake game is good.

W Ky is going to have to turn it around in a hurry if they don't want to get blown out in OT.

Coach Pants 03-21-2008 01:50 PM

That wasn't a charge. I'm glad Drake missed that last shot so the game wasn't decided on some overzealous douchebag ref who wanted nothing more than to take the game over with his sissy academy award performance charge pose.

agree, he did stick his arm out and give a little push, but the Drake guy had no position for a charge and it should have been a no call.

Siena over Vanderbilt today. My one big upset that I picked in the pool besides Davidson over Gonzaga, but that is mid major vs. mid major in my mind so it's no upset.

Refs have it so easy.
Masochistic tendencies required.

Coach Pants 03-21-2008 02:06 PM

Now they call a foul where there wasn't one.

Unbelievable.

WHITE POWER!!!

Coach Pants 03-21-2008 02:09 PM

YES!!!!

Fuc|< those pussies. Win fair or don't win at all.

pgardn 03-21-2008 02:12 PM

Natural selection did not take place.
The stupid team won.

Why for the
sake of soggy waffles did #21 on WKey
foul with 30s left? How many GD times
did we go over that situation in
practice and then your mother
yells from
the crowd to foul...

Idiot.

I was with you on that one HHH, nice pick.

Coach Pants 03-27-2008 05:16 PM

Western Kentucky +12
330/300

This is my 3rd bet on basketball this year. I could be way off on this one but giving 12 points to a team that can shoot is crazy. UCLA can't score!!

Thought it was his ankle? Either way...that gives me pause for concern.

Achilles and knee is what I heard.

pgardn 03-27-2008 08:35 PM

Carolina is looking awesome at the right
time of year, unlike last season.

Lofton will do his best in this game.
He wants this one. Really hard to tell
as Louisville has played some bad teams,
(I consider Oklahoma bad) and Tennessee
has not played well but pulled out wins.

Louisville lost two straight against good teams
coming into the tourney.

Talent wise I think Tennessee and Louisville are
about even, Tennessee a bit better.
Coaching... I give that to Louisville.

Little early with the call.

But Louisville is showing
much better control. They
are getting back side rebounds
just positioning much better.
Pitino is very good.

But Tennesse has looked crappy
in the first half of many games.
They come on at the end.
I really
hate Tennessee's helter skelter play though.
Louisville is much more pleasant to
watch.

Scav 03-27-2008 09:53 PM

Both coaches got their team playing out of their mind. I actually am looking forward to playing Louisville next year as one of my future plays. Once they get rid of Padgett's slow ass, they can actually play some basketball.

Yeah just ignore the fact that Louisville has turned the ball over eleventy billion times and still has the league. It's ridiculous to say these teams are about equal on talent. Louisville is miles ahead in that category. Without Lofton Tennessee is arguably a NIT team.

Coach Pants 03-27-2008 10:12 PM

Looks like some of my football money is going to UCLA. All this talk of Lee being a 1st round draft pick. Of what? The WNBA?

It was kinda aggressive :)

What is your take on the Memphis line being so low?

How the hell are the turnovers occuring?
Tennesse gets after the ball as well as
any team in the Nation. They just cant hold
on to it. Tennessee is incredibly athletic with
very quick hands. Their wild play will eventually
do them in. If not this game, then the next.

Tenn. is shooting under 40% and still in the game?

And Lofton is needed for one reason right now.
He actually can throw good passes and plays
under control.
