Double paid $246,.....

but what a crappy low P4 with winners paying 11-5-19 and $24 dollars just barely paying 2100 on a buck ......very strange!!

The 10 in the 7th was the death of me..

Scav 03-17-2008 08:05 PM

Scuds, you gotta look at Thursday's card, there are money burners galore.

It very well might carry into Friday with the races they put in this sequence

Scav 03-17-2008 08:06 PM

The 4th, only two horses have hit the board in their LAST TWO STARTS... :)

SCUDSBROTHER 03-17-2008 08:35 PM

omg..look at the 4th race Thursday..People gunna have thousands invested on what those cheap hos are willing to do?

SCUDSBROTHER 03-17-2008 08:46 PM

1,4,8 in that 4th race.

it will take a 10k ticket to hit it, otherwise, it is carrying...

SCUDSBROTHER 03-17-2008 09:11 PM

They got that crazy LETHAL HEAT in the 7th.Broke from 1 hole down the hill, and was sooooooooo full of run the whole way....I'll single her....She a superwoman.

Rootdog1 03-17-2008 09:13 PM

Abby cat is logical, but pirates charm may run away and stagger home

Rootdog1 03-17-2008 09:28 PM

wow....it is a tough card....some ugly racing. I might just go on and capp fridays card and skip thursday

Exactly root, pray for a monster carryover. You can't be comfortable at all....might be the toughest card I have seen there in a while, and not becuase of quality, but because of how bad it is.....

Scav 03-17-2008 09:33 PM

Is that JULIO garcia out in cali for Ward's horse in the 1st?

Rootdog1 03-17-2008 09:37 PM

races 1,4,and5 - who in hell is he?

If it is Julio Garcia, he rides Calder, and most likely there with Ward.

I fully expect him to win that first race if it is him

Rootdog1 03-17-2008 09:43 PM

i mean really - where would you come up with a single? Possbily the last race with either the 1 or the 3??

Scav 03-17-2008 09:43 PM

Now here is the question for ya, would you rather have the 2f baby race or the 4th race in the P6 sequence? Me, I would take the baby race, at least you know most of them are healthy and won't be done after this race.

You would single Danny Templeton? oh my...

Scav 03-17-2008 09:47 PM

The only horse I would consider singling would be Miss Fremont, and only based on the fact that there is alot of speed in there and she should get a great trip. Wickednwackyingrid might run huge also, I have always liked playing horses going from a route to down the hill...

Rootdog1 03-17-2008 10:06 PM

that race is not down the hill...it is 1M. And yes I would single Dannyboy

I confused it with the other, she is more obvious then now to me. My first thought was why are going back down the hill with her, who know what I was thinking. In shock how bad the card is probably.

Scav 03-17-2008 10:27 PM

If I was playing

this is how I would play it

3: 3
4: 1,4,7,8
5: 1,4,8
6: 1,2,8
7: 3,10
8: 1,5

You are right about Danny Boy, that race is so bad, and the horses that show anything arguable, it isn't on the poly. Ringmaster might be a decent include, for when the race falls apart. On a grade scale, it is probably a D+, and the only reason it gets the '+' is because of the size of the pool

Scav 03-19-2008 10:40 AM

Root, I started thinking about it, and if you are the aggressive type, I can see people singling Abbey Cat in that bad race. There are some BAD BAD horses in this race

1) Comparacion - Off a full year, never hit the board while here
2) Warren's Alohamoon - Off half a year but gets Blanc for comeback, who knows what happened in that Del Mar race
3) Kachina's Dream - Perfect horse for the 10k claimers they like running at Gulfstream, 3rd start off year layoff, shown nothing
4) Inaheartbeat - Off half a year, synthethic races are bad
5) Meg's Operator - Needs to be retired
6) Pirate's Charm - Victor Navarro and hasn't been under 29/1 in his last 6 starts
7) Kentucky Waltz - off a 1/3 of a year, hasn't shown much
8) Abbey Cat - Decent recent start while shortening up, 2nd time in a row sprinting, at least finished prior race, gets some poundage from others, should get the pace

Here are the rest of my thoughts on this

1) This race might be the lowest gross handle for Santa Anita this year, WHO IN THE WORLD WOULD BET THIS RACE?
2) I understand and respect the concept of putting competitive races in the P6 sequence, but this race is a disservice to the bettors IMO

Rootdog1 03-19-2008 10:53 AM

I do think Abbey makes the most sense..I am just a bit worried about her not showing enough early and leave to much to do late. They took the blinks off last time out. I think there is a chance one of these so called horses could run off and stagger home.

I should have just bet him to win. Tried to get clever and I boxed the 2 Ward horses and the 2 didn't fire.
