This year...only went to see one movie...Rambo...it rocked, Sly was great and I love Julie Benz

Top 10?
It tends to change with my day, but the favorite is Serenity

1) Serenity (Ms Glau kicks butt!)
2) Blade Runner
3) Godfather (1 & 2)
4) Cruel Intentions (SMG!)
5) Underworld (1 & 2)
6) Dusk to Dawn (love Juliette Lewis)
7) Rocky Horror
8) Innocent Blood
9) The Graduate
10) Buffy the Vampire Slayer (not a great movie but without it, no TV series)

blackthroatedwind 02-21-2008 07:41 PM

I would have Chinatown, La Strada and Treasure of the Sierra Madre on there. How about The Last Picture Show and maybe even the Exorcist? Dr. Strangelove? Definitely Paths of Glory.

And, oh yeah, Morty's favorite.......The Imposters.

Very good ,sir.

And, oh yeah, Morty's favorite.......The Imposters.

I never said it was my very best of all time...but it might make the top ten...still working on it.

Some people's taste here is abysmal.

Coach Pants 02-21-2008 07:45 PM

I like The Lost Boys and any movie with Vampires innit. I also like To Wong Fu.

Paths of Glory, Chinatown and La Strada?

Are you gonna call me an imecile again if i agree?:D

Don't know if you've seen Journey's End but that would be on my top 20.

La Strada.... greatest film ever.

Coach Pants 02-21-2008 08:18 PM

How could you leave out The Neverending Story?

I've never seen it. :o Will have to rent it...

blackthroatedwind 02-21-2008 08:25 PM

I always thought Juliet of the Spirits was comparable to La Strada. Even Nights in Cabiria.

Love Nights of Cabiria, Juliet of the Spriits was good but not one of my favorites.

Have you seen The White Sheik? I love that......

Just make sure it's in Italian and not dubbed. :)

Haven't seen those either. Apparently, I've got a few films to rent.

blackthroatedwind 02-21-2008 08:29 PM

I also like Wings of Desire a lot but I wouldn't rate it that highly. I like Wenders. I probably prefer Paris Texas.

I think the director of Dream Lives of Angels has a new movie coming out by the way.

fpsoxfan 02-21-2008 08:30 PM

Godfather
Shawshank
Pulp Fiction
Goodfellas
Slapshot
Breakfast Club

I've seen every Fellini movie except Roma ( and maybe the Ship Sails On ).

The White Sheik is his first movie.....right?

I think so, or one of his first.

Very sweet.

Roma wasn't great.

my miss storm cat 02-21-2008 08:35 PM

You know which one I've never seen... Il Bidone.

Have you?

That's the one about the friends hanging out, right?

It's great. It's also probably one of the more copied movies ever made.

no one likes Lord of The Rings?

Das Boot
Dr. Strangelove
Vanishing Point

blackthroatedwind 02-21-2008 08:59 PM

Lord of the Rings is one of the top 1000 movies made over the last ten years.....I think.

Perhaps you were only kidding Mr. Andy, but I actually like "Funny Bones". I've always enjoyed Oliver Platt's work, and Oliver Reed is terrific in that film as well IMO.

I thought I was the only person in the world who liked Paris Texas.

Mortimer 02-21-2008 11:14 PM

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Amadeus,Cuckoo's Nest and Arsenic and Old Lace.

I wasn't joking, actually, and I also think Oliver Platt is great.
