They should not have done it this way. They easily could have done this quietly with the player's union and said this is what we got, this is what we need to do now. The Union would have gone along as they will now for the tougher testing.

Its hard to believe that Gagne is on the list. Isn't he a short reliever? If so then doesn't he throw only 10-15 pitches when he is in the game.

In the end, what good did this report do especially if MLB knew this was going on? This barn door was wide open for a long, long time.

I can't wait to hear the spin in the next few months. I do think they've only scratched the surface. It doesn't matter in the long run anyhow. Tickets will still sell and douchebags will still spend anywhere from $50 - $5,000 for an autograph.

Funny thing is this list is just the tip of the iceberg. There are a lot of names we all mentioned that sure fit the profile yet weren't in the report as well as most of the players that tested positive weren't in it either. Based on the number of fringe players listed in the report I would guess that the amount of players that have at least used steroids or HGH once is well over 50%.

This may a big story for the media but they really didn't reveal anything that hadn't already been rumored already. Most of the players named are retired or not any good. There have been plenty of rumors surrounding Clemens already. It is hard to believe that this cost $60 million to produce.

this will not hurt baseball at all or very little -media is making a big deal out of old stuff!!!!!!! baseball fans realize this. as humans and sports fans in todays world we have a zero attention span

time to deal whatever needs to be dealt. impose some of the suggestions by mitchell. and shut up about it and do the testing. by 2009 we won't even be talking about it.the only time is during HOF inductions every year. its time to let it go and move on.

a labor strike would be a hell of a lot worse then this,to a baseball fan. drugs and cheating most will let slide but be damned you stop the baseball season

What this is about is a bunch of rich old white guys (plus that Moreno fella) who own baseball teams and got scared when their decision to ignore the problem for 10 years blew up in their faces and they were now at risk of Congress blowing up their sport.

Selig couldn't get the owners to give a crap about steroids; not while things like this were happening

Players are also at fault. No doubt.

But most people who hear the term "drug culture in baseball" do not really have a mental picture that includes the faces of all the owners who knew this was going on.

We'll read all kinds of stories connected to this in the coming months about how the lure of a $2 - $5 million salary drove these mostly middle and lower range players to steroids.

What you won't read are stories about what specific team owners and top execs knew and did or didn't do while their own wealth was increasing by as much as hundreds of millions.

were just donations to Radmowski's favorite charity? The guy is not very reputable, but let's let the facts of this case do the talking.

Mitchell report biggest waste of time on the planet. Who cares?? I actually feel bad for the 85 players listed as that left off about 500 to 1,000 or so who should also have been in it. It's only a story in baseball. Bonds was talked about daily for 5 years. Shawn Merriman is never talked about. It's a waste of time. This report will not stop drug use in any sport. There is always something better to go on to. All the players in the 60s and 70s were performance enhanced as well with their amphetemine popping non-stop. They immediately went to HGH, and soon they'll move beyond HGH. It's a lot of money involved. People will continue to cheat in mass numbers. End of story.
