here ya go. Its amazing to look back and see the names of horses he ran against. For example the horses that ran second to him in his first stakes races were Street Cry and BaltoStar!

He's only had a brisnet figure under 90 twice since 2001, pretty amazing.

He was 65-1 in the '01 Discovery?!? I didn't remember that!

Street Cry has sons that are retired!

also, look at the effect blinkers had.

I saw it as going two turns for the first time, which obviously is his game, but the blinkers surely helped as well.
Another interesting note is he finished only 7 lengths back at 6F against the future champion sprinter Orientate in '01, which again is obviously not his preferred distance.

I just find it fantastic to see him happy and trying hard going on 10. We need more geldings like him!

I love it that from 14 wins, all on the dirt, his average win distance is 9.21 furlongs. Don't see that too often.

Hell, we need more stallions like him!

check this out, with 12 starts this year as a nine year old, it marked his busiest racing year to date!

63 starts, only 6 worse than 5th. How can you not love this guy.

Come on now Buffy. He is old and still very competitive. I like the horse and I wish him nothing but the best in the future.....but tears in your eyes? A hero for the horse racing community? I think that might be a bit over the top. He is old but is still physically able to compete, and still seems to enjoy racing. That makes it a cool story, but it would take a bit more than that to bring tears to my eyes.....like a swift kick to the groin.

Incredible looking at his past performances. The one that caught my eye was the 2002 Excelsior. He rocketed to the lead and led by 5 at the 2nd call. Of 63 career races....he never did it before and never did it after. Makes me wonder what was going on that day?? Especially coming in off 3 straight wins from mid pack. I'd love to hear the story behind that one as right after that he was back of the pack every single race.

Incredibly nice horse and quite the 9 year old season racing 12 times and never finishing worse than 4th in any race. The 9 month break sure served him well this year. He deserves any attention he gets.

I take it you don't get out much. Hell, that is a tearjerker and a half compared to most of the $h!t women cry about.

As someone who thought she was going to lose her horse for the past month, it made me feel good to see this horse do well. Call me a sentimental female, I don't care. I can give ya that kick in the groin if ya want...

And what I meant by a hero was that he(EA) wanted the world to take notice of him. :p A horse who in this sport is still competing at his age and being competitive at that.

I say give credit where due.

If it weren't for Barcola's generosity (not to mention his cyber-trashing of my otherwise winning, Barcola-singled p-4 ticket), none of this would be happening.

As someone that hangs a Sunday Silence ornament on the Christmas tree each year, perhaps I have little room to criticize other peoples' sentimentality regarding horses.

Some people think we entered hoping it would come off the turf but in that case we would have entered MTO and saved a thousand dollars. We wanted to let him run on firm turf but when it came up yielding we scratched and went to Thursday's 12f race were he drew the number one gate, that should give him plenty of time to fall asleep and give everyone a furlong head start. :)

Funny one! All the best for Thursday...will be routing for him.
