Just yesterday you had the 2nd rated team (McNeese State) getting drilled at home by Eastern Washington and the 3rd rated team (Montana) losing at home by 1 point to a team (Wofford) that did what Meat Chicken couldn't do...(beat App State.). But all it did was prove that high rankings in 1-AA mean about as much as they do in 1-A...nothing. Which is why it is generally a good thing to actually play games to decide a champion.

scav's SIU team advanced yesterday.:)

What conference would they go undefeated in?
SEC
Pac-10
Big 12
Big 10
ACC
Big East

I say none of these.

Cajungator26 11-25-2007 02:46 PM

I would love to see Ohio State go down two years in a row.

Hawaii is better than Texas Tech regardless of conference. They may play a similar style but they do it better. Plus even though Hawaii plays a simple scheme on Defense, they hit hard which is not exactly a strong suit at TT.

Cannon Shell 11-25-2007 03:05 PM

You know the AFC East is pretty awful beside the Pats and I dont hear anyone saying they are overrated because they play Miami, Buffalo and the Jets twice a year.

Cannon Shell 11-25-2007 03:06 PM

Is it me or is 90% of the NFL schedule complete garbage games this week?

They haven't played the Jets the 2nd time yet. God only knows how many they will put up that day!

That may be the most hyped mismatch in NFL history. Will Belichek and Mangini shake hands or even acknowledge each others existence?

Any combination of Missouri, Ohio St, and West Virginia will be an awful national championship game. None of those teams would have gotten through the SEC with less than 3 losses this year. Too bad we don't get to see LSU-Georgia as they are likely the two best teams in the country with Oklahoma and USC being the next two best. The Big 10 and Big East are both terrible this year but cause of the flawed BCS the teams from the easy conference that only finish with one loss wind up on top of the better 2 loss teams from tougher conferences.

ddthetide 11-26-2007 11:07 AM

after thinking about this all weekend. all of us root for mizzu to win. let mizzu-wvu play for the nat'l championship, cause it'll be a BIG joke!
usc will crush osu in the rose bowl. lsu-hawaii should be interesting. lsu could be in trouble pellini could already be off to nebraska and miles out the door to michigan. warriors could win that.
uga-vt should be a slugfest. asu blow-out kansas. until jan 7 comes, who cares about mizzu-wvu outside of their fans? tv rates will suck.

ALL this whining about who's in and who's not and if they would of played in the SEC is Bull!!! it is what it is LSU, OSU, Oklahoma, USC (they lost to Stanford for christ sakes) all these teams had there chances now since WVU and Missouri are in if they win you all want to cry,,, Well cry me a river it is what it is and dont compare scores or do any of that they had chances and blew them.. and everyone says if so and so would of played so and so they would of lost how do you all know who would beat who and whoever said something about Hawaii beating Missouri must of been kicked in the head by a horse because that is down right a misconception. So it is what it is dont cry because Missouri and WVU will be a very entertaining game but I guess if it isnt one of the so called blue bloods of college football everyone cries. I agree they need to change the system but for now this what we got,,,,, And in case your wondering I am alum of the University of Missouri so I have died and gone to heaven at least til Saturday night,,,,also one of the only people walking the earth that played and shut out OKlahoma!!!!! so I am biased but hopefully I will see ya in New Orleans!!!!

i don't have that much a problem with missouri. wvu and the big east is the joke. osu has no right to claim foul after playing ysu, kent st and akron. kansas skated through the big 12 dodging texas and oklahoma.
uga's problem you don't know what team will show up. if it's the uga of the last couple weeks you have your hands full! hawaii is in the same position as boise st. last year. IF the lsu staff stays together through the bowl game and all it's wholes, lsu and usc are the best 2 teams in the country. usc MIGHT be playing the ball right NOW.

West Virginia looked pretty good against the only SEC team that they played. You guys really miss the point with all the conference bs. Teams play, not conferences. Everybody piles on Ohio State about the schedule but Arkansas played 4 bad teams (Troy, N. Texas, UT Chatt, and FL int'l) LSU played Va Tech but also never left the state when playing M. Tenn, Tulane and La Tech. FL schedules FAU, Troy (who is like a quasi SEC team since they play 1/2 the league)and W. KY. KY plays Louisville but also gets E. KY, Kent state, and FAU.Auburn at least played 2 legit non conference games but lost to S. FL who wasn't supposed to be good. I'm sure they wont make that mistake again.

I just find it hard to believe that if you watch a lot of college football you can determine that the SEC is so much better than everyone else and that a team like Missouri (who I admit dont really believe in) or West Virginia (who I do) couldn't be considered legit National Champions. Sure when USC plays their A game they are probably the best team but they did lose to Stanford and that alone is unforgivable. The Big East is at least as good as the Big 10and is better than the ACC. If that makes them a "joke" conference, then so be it.

And I am the worlds biggest mainland Hawaii fan but they dont have the manpower on D to stay with LSU. But they will score on them....alot.

If you dont think Hawaii would put up 40+ on those teams on a good field conditions you have missed the boat. There are no teams that I have seen play this year that could stop them from scoring, and scoring alot. At Hawaii where the conditions are always good, they can score alot of points. College teams just aren't built to defend that kind of offense which is why they are so successful despite having top talent. Though I would say that the recivers they have are as good at what they do as any in the college game. They run good routes and dont drop the ball and they can all run after the catch.

By the way USC would beat a combined team of Kansas and Missouri by 20.

I have no doubt Hawaii could score against either Missouri or Kansas, what I doubt is their ability to ever stop either of those offenses. They gave up 40 plus to La Tech and San Jose and nearly 30 to a Boise State that got beat by the PAC 10s worst team. Missouri putting up over 30 against Illinois, Oklahoma, Kansas...over 50 against colorado, Texas Tech is simply better than whom Hawaii was scoring against. Missouri has a better offense than Hawaii no matter how good Hawaii is. I"m pretty confident Missouri would score as many as they needed to to beat Hawaii. Of course USC would beat a combined Missouri/Kansas team by over 20...how many times has Reesing thrown to Maclin or has Daniel tossed to the Ks receivers?? If they played ONLY the Missouri team they would get beat!!
